Ways to spend (not exactly) insane amounts of money.

As weird as this arrangement was with Lara, Dean was quickly finding out some perks to it. For one thing, he could get a flatscreen tv complete with plenty of movies, and a big ass bed to relax on. There was a jacuzzi in the bathroom, and he didn't even have to worry about anybody wasting the hot water ( Read more... )

Running the White Court from the shadows behind Lord Raith's throne was no small task, and it was quite some time before Lara decided to take the time to check in on her latest acquisition. She didn't bother to knock, simply walked in with the unshakable confidence of one who owned everything and everyone within view.

Although, upon setting sight on what Dean had done to the small suite of rooms, it was understandable that she may not have wanted to own what she saw. She raised an eyebrow at the sight of Dean lounging on the bed, and a cool, amused smile tugged at her lips as she recognized what was on the new television. "Looking for inspiration, pet?"

He's a little like a shelter dog that way.

Dean raised an eyebrow, and shrugged, "Got bored." Luckily he wasn't in the middle of anything really interesting to be surprised by her. His hands were just calmly at his side on the bed.

Those who knew her would undoubtedly have been surprised by the easy, almost affectionate way Lara kissed Dean on the cheek, her fingertips lingering along the line of his collarbone. But one look in her eyes would have showed that it was a careless, idle gesture. The deep desires of mortal hearts were her bread and butter, and Lara knew how to exploit them, when to be cold and careless, and when to feed the affection-starved.

"Does something have to be up?" she answered, amusement warming her words. Her arsenic grey eyes, intelligent and ever-alert, swept over the room in a single appraising gaze before she spoke again, the words carefully balanced between approval and displeasure, depending on the answer she received. "I see you've made yourself at home."

"Maybe?"

Dean didn't think he had been agitated at all before she walked in. Though, through the light touches, as fleeting and careless as they were, he found himself calmed and almost comforted by the gesture.

He briefly glanced back toward the mess, and a flash of guilt flickered across his face. This wasn't right, he shouldn't be so rude with the gifts she had bestowed on him.

..What? He almost shook his head at the odd thoughts, but he then admitted, "Sorry, thought it was the maid's day off."
