So, I tried to order coffee from the place down the street, and by the time the person making it was done telling me a story about making me coffee, it was cold. You'd think after last week we'd get some kind of break from all the curses and stuff, but I guess not.

Stop by the Jasmine Dragon. No one is narrating anything, here. Except for a couple customers who are going into great length to tell everyone about picking up their tea and sipping and oh dear the cup is so hot their poor singed fingers. Or something. I kind of stopped paying attention.

Oh, yeah, I haven't been there since... [... it burned down. Aha, oops.]

I never know what kind to get, though. There's just so many. Plus, the last time I had tea, it... tasted like carrots.

It was nasty.

Ew. God. Carrots? Really? [She's laughing, though. Don't mind her.] We have one that tastes like apple pie and another that somehow tastes like hot chocolate almost perfectly. I've been testing them since I started working here and can easily steer you away from anything vegetable-flavored.

It was some kind of green tea. Never touching that stuff again...

Apple pie... tea? Chocolate tea? That stuff exists? [MIND IS BLOWN, DON'T MIND HIM.]

Of course they do. People'll use any excuse for a party.

Ino and I threw a party.

I-it's not as depressing as it sounds. I've made friends here that I couldn't have anywhere else. [That means you, Yuri.]

Who's Ino?

Someone I knew. Left a long time ago, though.

Do something special for yourself anyway. You definitely deserve it after surviving an entire year of curses.

[That... is kind of unusual, but Luke has no idea what it could mean.]

I'm sorry.

[He doesn't respond for a moment either. Something special? He's grateful to survive for a year. Period.]

Maybe I'll just call in. [Luke wishes Florian was still around so that they could go to the playground and he wouldn't have to think about anything.]
