MyAnimeList - Natsuki Shinomiya Personality:
Most people's first impression of Natsuki is that he is a bit --- odd and quirky. He simply loves and adores cute and small things and people. That is what initially drew him to Nanami Haruka. He even called her Elizabeth, because she reminds him of his pet dog. The moment he saw her, he just lost himself and practically almost pounced on her to give her a hug. Fortunately, she is saved by Masato and unfortunately, he hugged Ittoki instead. He has a close friendship with the small and cute Sho Kurusu. They have been together since they were kids. Natsuki seems to be a reason for many of Sho's fears, such as his
fear of heights and anything
Natsuki makes in the kitchen. Natsuki in the beginning of the series had child-like personality. He doesn't mind being given a childish name like Na-chan because it is cute. Nor does he seem to mind wearing cute, frilly aprons.
Natsuki always tries to be helpful to his friends. Though sadly, his attempts to help do not always work out. When Nanami was upset with all the backlashing she got from her classmates for her inability to read notes, Ittoki Otoya thought it would be a good idea to cheer her up by baking her something. A guy that likes cute things as much as Natsuki does should be very good at making cute sweets, right?
Wrong. But, his cooking is really a unique sight to see. In almost no time at all, Natsuki can turn the kitchen into --- what Sho calls --- Hell. Apparently, the only cooking skill he is good at is eggs. The rest is just disaster. He uses ingredients like chili sauce, fermented soybeans and squid, mix them all in a blender. And to get the "chocolate color," he uses a flamethrower.
Another time he attempted to be helpful was when he wanted to help Sho with his fear of heights. He believes that the best way to conquer fears was to face them. He forces Sho to face them by pushing him off tall structures. He calls this Exposure Therapy. It wasn't very effective however.
Natsuki is also quite honest with his feelings and says exactly what he is thinking, such as how Nanami reminds him of his dog and how being with her was like 'basking in the sun.' He is very honest abut wanting only Nanami to make a song for him. He believes that only she could create the song for him. Something gentle and warm, like her. He is also the first to express his hesitation about doing a group song for their graduation audition. He wants her to be his partner. At the same time, the musician in him could sense that the song was good and joined the group. Another reason may be because he cares too much for Nanami.
What very few people know is that Natsuki has what they call, "The Gemini Syndrome." There is another personality that emerges from Natsuki when he takes his glasses off. This is
Satsuki, and he is everything that Natsuki isn't. Satsuki is dark and dangerous. He is not as gentle as Natsuki at all and his explosive personality has already sent 50,000 people to the hospital. That makes pissing him off very dangerous. The frightening thing is that it doesn't take much to make him angry. Littering and whispering behind his back can tick off. However, Satsuki is a genius composer and composes songs in his spare time. He writes about his true feelings and absolutely cannot stand people singing insincere songs.
Satsuki is just as honest about his feelings as Natsuki. Except --- in different ways. Satsuki will tell any person what he thinks. He will tell them exactly what they are doing wrong and that they are doing horribly. If it makes them cry or scare them, he just doesn't give a damn.
Satsuki had been around even before Natsuki met Syo. This dark side of Natsuki was made when a teacher that Natsuki admired betrayed him and being such a pure boy, he didn't know how to handle the hurt. Satsuki was born --- to protect Natsuki. Natsuki doesn't know about him though.
After Episode 6, he is a little more serious, especially when they began working on their graduation audition song. Maybe it is because he believes that Nanami might be the one that would understand his music --- and both sides of him. So it is possible that Natsuki at least suspects about Satsuki.

[ Video ]
[ All not peaceful and quiet for everyone in Johto. The video begins with the sound of a screeching Eevee. The Eevee looked like it was really in trouble. It was scratching on the Gear desperately. It wouldn't stop shouting and screaming either. Something was obviously wrong. This was an obvious cry for help, but what was he running from?
Could it possibly a much bigger and dangerous Pokemon? ]
Elizabeth! Elizabeth! Where are you!?
Ah! There you are, Elizabeth! Try some of my ---
[ It was a voice coming from a tall, blonde, handsome young man. Eevee didn't turn around, knowing very well the voice came from his breeder, Natsuki. Before Natsuki could even finish what he wished to say, the Eevee took off again and running for his life. ]
Elizabeth?!
[ Natsuki looked down at the Gear that Eevee left on the ground. He picks it up and stares at it --- displaying an adorable confused look before smiling happily the next second. ]
That is a good idea, Elizabeth! If I record myself cooking, I will never forget the ingredients!
Log/Prose sample:
It was another beautiful day in Johto. The sun was shining and the sky was a beautiful blue. A day this beautiful --- what could possibly go wrong?
Those are famous last words.
Inside a small house in the small town of New Bark, an Eevee was crying and hiding against the farthest corner of the house. Its face was that of pure terror. It was like it had just seen a ghost, monster or the devil. His eyes were fixed on the kitchen and it looked like a scene from HELL. Natsuki was in the kitchen cooking, if that is what you want to call it. He was mixing a batter that currently looking like something that came out of the toilet. It was as black as coal and as sticky as glue.
"You are so lucky, Elizabeth! You will be the first to try my new recipe for chocolate macaroons!" Natsuki chirped. "Lets see. What is next ---Ah! Wasabi paste! Of course!" Now proceeding to squirt the whole tube of Wasabi paste into the batter. Seeing that, Eevee turned almost as green as the Wasabi.
"Lets see... what am I missing? Ah! --- chili powder!" Now scurrying to the pantry to get a packet of Chili powder and then dumping it into the batter.
Ten minutes ago, Eevee was rubbing itself against Natsuki's leg because he was hungry. Natuski thought Eevee was the most adorable thing in the world, so of course he was more than happy to feed him. Without confirming his gender, Natsuki named him Elizabeth. With mother out, Natsuki had free reign in the kitchen --- and the moment Natsuki puts on that apron all hell broke loose. Now, Eevee regrets ever waking his breeder up and is almost afraid that he was about to die.
His fears seemed to have been confirmed when the oven explodes only a few minutes after Natsuki puts the macaroons in the oven.
BOOM!
Natsuki didn't seemed bothered by that overly much and instead announced, "Elizabeth, look! They are done!"
He pulled out what was left of the tray out of the oven. What was on the tray were unrecognizable shapes of black --- coal? This had got to be what they fed people in hell.
Eevee began shaking and slowly began backing away towards the door. He was thinking, "No! I don't want to die!" Suddenly, as fast as he can Eevee ran for his life out the door.
For a moment, Natsuki just blinked at first wondering why he was running away, but soon enough he was smiling at this new game 'Elizabeth' was playing and was chasing after him. "Elizabeth! Wait for me!"
