Kate was in Tulsa. Wasn't she always, really, these days? This time, it involved browsing the sparse selection of paperback books at one of the stores at the airport, sighing at the bad weather that threatened to cancel her flight back to Kansas, and idly checking her phone.
Except that last bit got a little less idle when she noticed Mitchell's message. In fact she kind of froze, for a moment. And then texted back.
how?
As soon as she'd pressed Send she realized she probably didn't even want to know.

NO MITCHELL IT FUCKING ISN'T.
Yes, Kate was fairly confident in her assessment that going after someone into purgatory or wherever the hell it was by using someone else's gateway into the afterlife was not a sane thing to do.

Kate wasn't too far from doing that herself. And as things stood, she wasn't going to answer that message. Instead, she made a strangled sound in her throat that made a fellow customer call her miss and ask her if she was okay.
She lied, obviously, and grabbed the nearest book to pay for it without bothering to check the cover or anything else.
Like she was going to be able to concentrate on reading today, anyway.

Because that wasn't terrifying at all.

Not that that stopped Kate from worrying.

Yep. Sensemaking, he had it.

She was not going to ask if he was insane. Because that much was pretty much given.

Mitchell: choosing to refuse to read the incredulity in Kate's text.

THAT'S INSANE.

George would weep over that sentence for so many reasons.

He really wasn't. He needed to do this. If she couldn't see that... well. Too bad.

She'd seen her fair share of idiotic plans from him. He was just lucky she wasn't going to drop everything to come yell at him in person right now.
Quietly raging at an airport in fucking Oklahoma was so much better, obviously.
are you really sure about it?

At least he was very determinedly forging forward into the idiot plan?
