2 hours on hold between both B and me, and I was shuffled between 3 departments before I was told that their technician had our correct address and would be out here by 6 pm tonight. We were trying to correct the address that was wrong in the appointment notification app, which had our apartment as 208F instead of F208 and the correct city with the ( Read more... )

They didn’t make it. A technician phoned us from Lawrence, CA, a suburb of Santa Clara, CA, which is somewhere around San Francisco. He was looking for our apartment. B spoke with him and was light and gentle with him. The tech asked B to text him our address so he could use it to file a report on why the job was canceled, which B did. We have since called Midco, a local cable company, and set up service with them. Our modem is supposed to arrive tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday, via UPS. We’ll be around both days just to be sure we get it.

Our modem is here now, and for the first time in 27 days I can read and post to lj on a decent sized screen. So far I'm pretty happy with Midco!

I hopehopehope they come out today as promised!

Metherion and Daughter made it safely to Connecticut and now they're hoping for their furniture & stuff to be delivered in a reasonable timeframe. I didn't tell Metherion about your internet troubles because it would have given him something new to worry about, and he's been worrying about everything during this move! He's a lot happier now that they are at least in the new place (sleeping on an air mattress) and the cats have calmed down.

A technician phoned us from Lawrence, CA, a suburb of Santa Clara, CA. He was looking for our address. This was the last straw, so we’ve contacted a local cable company and now we wait for their modem. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow or Friday.

Best wishes to Metherion and Daughter in their new digs. I hope they have a less eventful move than we did!
