I realize I'm probably boring you with my ongoing music library story.

My music library is up to 1410 songs now. B and I have transferred about half of my backup files over to my new machine. To put it in a little more graspable fashion, we have covered the alphabet from Abba through Kate Bush (who resides in the Ks). ( More behind the cut )

I always loved when rhinogirl used to put together playlists from our various characters. Have you ever thought of themesongs for some of yours? It can be a lot of fun putting that together and can be a source of subtle subtext and inspiration for the character. I often have soundtracks playing in my head during action sequences in games. Too much TV and too many movies I'm afraid. But then, that's what I love and I'm trying to do professionally huh?!

It still amazes me how much music you can fit on a harddrive these days with compression. Just staggering. And we can carry around most of our collection on a data crystal flash drive these days.

I still have rhinogirl's disc she put together for the Starry Wisdom campaign. It was great, as well as the only source of music by caprine. I never thought of putting together a playlist for a character, however. That would be a fun to try sometime. I'm working on a playlist of mellow music right now to give out at Christmas. My challenges are finding good stuff from my library that's mp3, and finding one last song that fits the oceanic theme that inadvertently developed in the making.I have a good candidate, but I have to see if it's available through Amazon.

The ability to carry 15 G of music around in a package that's about the size of two sticks of gum astounds me.

Full-sized iPods, of course, are pretty small, and they hold so much more. I wish I had one, along with 80G of music in my library!

I had a song on the Starry Wisdom album? I have no memory of this. And I don't know where my copy of the damn thing got to.

"Save it for Later" was one of my favorite English Beat songs. It was so poppy, infectious, and danceable.

rhinogirl put "Grandmother's Place" on the album. I'd be happy to loan you mine, or if Bill and I have two, perhaps we could give you one (although I'd have to clear it with him, first.) Either way, I'd be happy to fix you up. The other music on it is good, too.

"Save it For Later" is memorable, and one of the things I happen to like about it is that the music is in such contrast with the lyrics, which are bitter.
