And she told me the story of a famous violinist who recorded a piece of music, and had the sound guys come down and say "look, well, that was fantastic, but these two or three bits you made a bit of a mess of - want to do another recording so we can paste the good bits over the top?"
And he refused, because if he'd done that the music would not have been alive.
