Poll Virginity! Give me it!

So I play Axel in this a_facility  and next week's test is Loveless universe. For those unfamiliar with this canon, it's a universe where (there's a lot more but this is the most relevant fact) virgins have cat ears and tails.  So I mentioned that I was excited to see cute Axel with cat ears to my Barney (that's the Barney to my Robin, for ( Read more... )

My honest response is actually, no, I don't think Axel is a virgin by any stretch of the imagination, but OMG SEXY was just too good an opportunity to pass up.

I think that, at the point in time he's at in the game (rather, his age then), yeah, he is. See, in my head, Axel deliberately sets himself apart from everyone. He creates this distance between the people he knows, and at the same time I don't think he can have just a casual relationship with someone; I believe he feels deeply (probably too deeply, which is why he thinks it's better to create that distance in the first place) and in order to share something that important (even if it is a one-night stand) with someone, he'd have to be in a position to let his guard down and be vulnerable. Make any sense? I'm sort of... er... basing an entire story I'm working on on this perception of his character, so I'm hoping it does. Especially because there is a lot more to this idea of mine, involving many complications and a fair bit of angst, and Axel and Roxas being themselves.

You have MSN or Yahoo? I'd love to talk to you about Axel and/or Roxas sometime. Or Riku and Sora: I talk about them a lot too.

I do see where you're coming from, though my view of it is a little different. I don't think he intentionally walls himself off, but it's part of being coy and attempting to not get hurt. You know, that sentence sounds a fair bit like what you wrote. Maybe I'm just confused. >.> I agree with you about the "feeling" deeply thing, and how I don't think he'd do anything that didn't involve a a relationship ( ... )

It's all about word choice, considering that's what I believe too; what better way to hide than out in the open? That's how I do it, anyway.

The fic I'm currently writing features them knowing about each other their whole lives, growing up in the same town and living on each other's peripheral, and then some shit happens and they have this connection that they're not even sure they want and it prompts them to try to get away, to escape and not deal by drifting and drinking and smexing without any real sense of love or belonging, and the drama eventually rears its ugly head because that's what drama tends to do.

Y-your icon. -loves-

-dies- No worries, your input is appreciated! xD Redheads ftw!

Also, still trying to get days off for animecon. NEED MOAR ANIME. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I actually realized it starts on Friday. Which I have off. And I should be around (I hope, unless my sister drags me to Phoenix). So maybe that day? If not Saturday.

Lol it's so true. I might have to steal it! -ninja-

Haha not it wasn't! <3 I need to really play FF one of these days. I just..can't find it. They have it at Bookmans for like seventy bucks, or at least they did last time I checked, but I was like, oooh, seventy bucks, nope. But it is history. I should really play it one of these days.

AND HAHA RIGHT!! I should probably go to the thrift store and get something wacky to wear if we do end up going. May not be cosplay, but it's wacky and anime con=wacky and srs bsnss. Or whatever. xD I'm afraid it's gonna be overrun by squealing 16 year olds (shudder) but I think it just may be worth it!

My kneejerk response was "Nah, not Axel, couldn't be," but after I thought about it I realized that in every fic I've written, Axel has been a virgin until Roxas. So, in that instance based on what point you're taking his character from, I guess it would depend on whether you think Axel and Roxas got it on at some point during canon--or got it on in whatever way you would consider "losing your virginity".

Anyway, ultimately voted yes because Axel is one of those guys that you wouldn't think is a virgin at first impression, but will totally surprise you by being one and being at once confident, defensive and blase about it. xD

I agree with you. I find myself agreeing to a lot of concepts, I need to cut that shit out.

Like I mentioned above, I feel like most of fandom has this "AXEL IS A BADASS AND SEX GOD~" sort of feel to it. And I feel like I may have it wrong, based on the reactions of the people I RP with, because they all sort of see it that way, so part of me is thinking that's the right way. I've been writing/roleplaying Axel for about a year and a half now and I feel like everything I thought is wrong now.

And sorry you could my crazy response, yours was the last comment I answered, it just came out! D:

I don't know, I kind of think that Axel = Badass/Sex God is more fanon trope than anything. I've already maintained my belief that he's a teenager, and he may spend a large amount of time manipulating a majority of the Organization, but that doesn't mean he's sleeping with them. In fact, sleeping with them would most likely put him in very real danger in relation to said manipulation, so despite being a badass (which he undoubtedly is) his badassery is not the sort that would make sex and/or promiscuity viable.

If, however, there was one person that he really, truly and exceptionally trusted and loved (Roxas IMHO), that might be an exception. When I thought about this, initially, I thought about Bruce Willis's character in Pulp Fiction, who was a badass had this girl that he really absolutely loved, and I don't believe for a second that he would ever let his guard down or show even the remotest vulnerability to anyone aside from her. And I suppose that goes back around to what Kel was saying above about Axel keeping people at arm ( ... )
