China's Quake....

I feel like it would be remiss of me not to mention the tragedy that has struck China*, leaving nearly 20,000 dead and even more missing.  A friend of mine works with the RedCross and will be heading over there soon.  Being a broke-ass medical student, I wasn't able to donate as much as I would have liked, but I gave what I can...and every little ( Read more... )

I heard about that the other day... I also heard that they were able to recover a pregnant woman from her collapsed apartment... She didn't suffer any life threatening injuries from what I heard. When I saw all the faces of the onlookers as they pulled her to safety it made me smile...

They were all so happy to see she was okay.

I'll have to try and see if I can send some money to the Red Cross... I am broke as a joke...

I heard that many parents (and schoolmasters) were lied to about the number of child casualties....its so sad....nevertheless one should have hope

I share your concerns. I too have been thinking alot about not only china but also the cyclone that devastated Myanmar. I am a scientist with a degree in Earth Science, and these type of natural disasters are so difficult to predict or even prepare for. It's natures way of showing us who is in charge. I hope we take from it that ever day is precious.
