I have gotten to the point where I have no tolerance at all of anyone trying to make me feel bad about my harmless pleasures. In return, I try not to make anyone else feel defensive or embarrassed for the same reason. There are not enough middle fingers in the world for what those characters tried to do to you.

Mind you, I have Bay City Rollers music on my iPod (holdover from a seventies childhood) so maybe I should be embarrassed, but--nah. Screw 'em.

Screw 'em, indeed. I intend to bring all my Bon Jovi CDs back to Dublin with me on Monday and play them all straight through. At a volume verging on the offensive.
