A meme snagged from mrstater:

"If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach." (Alfred Hitchcock)

When I write a story, what do you immediately look for?

meme, writing

An absolutely impeccable sense of humor that makes me think, "Damn! This girl needs to be writing for TV or movies!" Your stories always have that rare hallmark of avoiding cliches and humor for the sake of humor--every joke is such a spot-on glimpse into character.

I was going to say the humor, too. You fit it in everywhere, but it's never too much. And you can take the darkest, bleakest scenario and add a little twist of humor (...like a little twist of lemon? lol), and it both provides a little relief and at the same time makes the dark darker (in a good way). I love the way you do this.

Tried to leave a comment, but it looks like it didn't take! Snappy banter and dry humor is what I always look for! Love that snappy banter!

Razor-sharp humour, intelligence and your characters, while instantly recognizable from canon, always have that extra something that makes them stand out. A dash of the author's own individuality and charisma, perhaps? :D
