Just Call Me Dr. Frankenstein

I may have created a monster. I was watching the highlights from last night's game when my roommate asks me I'm doing. I told her what I'm watching, and next thing you know, she wants to know more about hockey! Well, right now it's mostly just me showing her checking players out and rating them according to their looks, but she is impressed by the ( Read more... )

I've been trying to get her to understand that there's more to the game than objectifying the players just on their looks, but I think that'll just come with time.

LOL! The fun part is when you get into it enough to objectify the players by looks AND talent. There are several baseball players I find super-sexy who aren't necessarily physically attractive.

I'm so impatient for the first polls to open! I'm pretty sure my bracket will be invalidated right away in a couple of categories (like, I suppose Cappie doesn't really have a chance to beat Sue), but I feel like there are so many match ups that really are up in the air.

Yeah, I've been trying to tell her that, but right now she's too distracted by the pretty. I also have players who I absolutely adore in terms of talent, but they're nothing to write home about.

I can't wait either! I think because of last year, there's going to be a lot of upsets in terms of what we're expecting.

YES! THE EPIC CHALLENGE TO CORRUPT CONVERT EVERYONE TO THE NHL!! You have done well. =)

I'm kind of pissed Brads isn't getting a sweater. I mean moreso then Steckel not getting one. He's a scrappy kind of player and also 100% the right kind of guy. I'm sure things will shake out and the team will be better for it, but right now, I'm a little confused by these trades.

Backstrom wins forever as does MIKE KNUBLE I MISSED MIKE KNUBLE.

...I did a bracket too. I had Dexter Morgan and Donna Noble in the final. Because... Dexter.

I don't actually know who Sue Sylvestre or Neal Caffery is. I fail at shows that aren't sci-fi.

I'M PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT IT.

Yeah, Brads sitting out doesn't make any sense to me; at least with Steckel, they gave us a reason, but with Brads, nothing. I trust George and Bruce, I'm sure they have a plan, but right now, it's not that evident what they want to do. Hopefully it'll make more sense once time goes on.

Backstrom just wins at life; it's a proven fact. God, I missed Mike Knuble too!

Yay! I'm actually not all that familiar with Dexter Morgan because I've never seen the show, but from what I understand, he's pretty tough. Plus, Donna is awesomesauce; it was a tough call between her and Sue.

Sue Sylvester is from Glee, and Neal Caffrey is from White Collar. Sue's a crazy/awesome cheer coach who's pretty much a more insane version of my old coach, and Neal Caffrey's this slick ex-con who is very pretty.
