Let me start by saying that I love my friends who have kids. This is not an entry to complain about said kids, said friends, or friends who want kids. This is...well, I guess it's just to get some things down on paper

If it reassures you any, you have E-children and, personally, I see no children in my immediate future. xD But know that if the situation arises and I'm able to come visit you, I will bring Battle Royale and Boondock Saints. No censorship for the little Turk, you can bet on that.
People move on to new points in their lives, and everyone has to adjust. But it can be painless if all parties work on making those adjustments. Perhaps said friends can work on having a spouse or a family member who is readily avaliable be will ing to take the kiddo once in awhile with little notice so you can be spontanious. And maybe you all can hang out sometimes with the kid. It can work.
What bothers me about certian friends with kids is when they push you to have them too. Especialy someone like me who hasn't made up her mind if she wants them or not...its enough to make me swear off children forever.

Well, being one of the 'Mom' types, I can say this: don't worry about feeling like you're not going to "the next step" -- there *ISN'T* a "next step"! This is it. Period. You, Matt, cat & it's glorious. A modern fallacy is to believe that we'll feel better/complete.happy/etc. when such-and-such someday is true. HA. Life is NOW, happiness is NOW and you are the only one who knows what is right for you NOW
