Those snowy village pictures are calendar worthy! *___________* The stream shot with the virgin snow on the rocks and the shore is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for this post!!! I'll be going to Shirakawago in April~ but I couldn't find any people who wrote about it in as much detail and pictures as you! In my guidebook, it says that you can stay there??? Sounds really awesome! I love this place! I wanna see it for myself! I heard that the anime "Higurashi no naku koro ni" setting was inspired from this place!

Yes, that's right! ^-^ You can stay in some of those houses overnight :D As I didn't do it, I can't tell you any details, though.
Wow, in April with all the cherry blossoms it must be so beautiful there as well!! ^-^

No wonder that they used it as inspiration :D

Wirklich schöne Bilder - und ja, sehr europäisches Flair, vor allem die "Übersichtbilder" könnten von meinen Winterurlauben in Österreich sein. :D

So pretty!
One of my friends lived in Takayama for 2 years - I really should have gone and visited him while I had the chance! Ah well.
