[Japan Travel]: Kokura Day 1 (last day)

Jan 23, 2009 07:22

Hello f-list!

Yepp, it's finally time! The last day of my summer (!) vacation in photos.
Yamaguchi -> Nagasaki -> Kumamoto -> Kagoshima -> Kokura -> Yamaguchi
Kokura is in North Kyushu and not soooo far away from Yamaguchi Prefecture, so I decided to stop by there, because there's Animate and Mandarake ;P
So my last day was full of shopping, but also of sightseeing once again.
Kokura has a castle, too, as you'll see in a few seconds.

Enough talking, I let the photos do the main talking from now on ;P

Kokura - Day 1 (August 17th, 2008):

That's close to Kokura station. Actually it was REALLY stressful as there was just no freaking free locker available ANYWHERE on that day!!!!! I spent over ONE FUCK***** HOUR looking for a locker!!!! ARGH!!! But as I wanted to visit the castle I couldn't drag my suitcase along with me, right? *sigh*

On my way to the castle. Just a random photo, because I liked the scenery :)

And already there! ^-^ The Kokura Castle! The second castle I visited during my summer vacation. The first one was the huge and impressive Kumamoto Caslte as some of you might remember ^^

And another random shot on my way :)

Getting closer :) A rather small castle!

And right next to the castle these spacy looking huge department stores XDDDD Yah, that's Japan for ya ;P

Why are there always cannon, no matter where I go in Japan? o___O'' ..... hmmm ....

Pfff .... monkeys??? In Kokura?? Sorry, it was sooooo funny to find banana peels there XDDDD

And another picture of the castle. It's really small, isn't it? But kind of cute <3

Okay, who can guess why I took that photo? You'll get cookies for the right answer XD

Inside the castle. Luckily you were allowed to take photos there :) A huge miniature of the castle + the surroundings. Interesting :)

It was difficult to take photos because there was glass in between, so I couldn't use flash ^^

It was really detailed and nice to look at :)

So that even stupid gaijin get it *lol* - yet another cute sign XD

It's rare that it's allowed to take photos of these kind of things, so I took the chance of course :D

That was a REALLY huge picture!!! So beautiful!!! I wanted to take it with me XDDDD .... but you'll need a huge house or something ... I guess .. XD

The colors of those drawings were really beautiful, but as I couldn't use flash, it's not as colorful as it was in rl.

And yet another cute sign <3

Wanna have! (*_*)

And the obligatory "stick your head through and let somebody take a photo of you"-thingies XD

Forgot what exactly that was o___o' .......

Looks comfy .. let's have a closer look! ...

Uhm .. yes, not too bad, huh?! Now I need some hot smexy slaves to carry me around in that thing XD

Another huge and awesome tiger picture. I liked the one before better, though.

Yes ... yes, that's a toilet! XD

Finally on the highest floor, I took some photos out of the castle which had a nice view, too. It's not on a hill, though, like most other castles.

Down there was a Japanese garden thingie, too, but I didn't have enough time to go there as well.

And as you can see only a few steps more and you're already back in the big city with its skyscrapers and whatnot :)

Interesting building o__O

Looks spacy. Super modern building meets traditional Japanese buildings XD

And a miniature of the castle. In the background photos of other castles (yet again).

I found Kamenashi XD

On my way to one of those huge department stores, I took this photo. It was right next to the castle.

Only a few steps away from the department stores I still could see the castle clearly as this. Very close!

When I arrived at the department store there was a Japanese festival thingie going on. I watched the dances and it was AMAZING!!!!!! I enjoyed it a lot!
I'd really like to start that kind of thing, too, but I don't know if foreigners would be even allowed to do it.
Looked like they had tons of fun :)

On my way to Animate and Mandarake I just HAD to take a photo of this car! Me wants!! (*__*)

*lol*

And that's the Mandarake in Kokura :) Smaller than the one in Fukuoka, but still big enough :D

My treasure hunting was successful as you can see XD

Camera used:
Sony Cybershot DSC-W1

And here my summer vacation ends.

As you all know I just came back from my winter vacation a while ago, so please look forward to those photos.

I still haven't gotten the photos of the first half of my vacation, so maybe I'll just start with the second half first or we'll have to wait some time longer (^^')>

Bye~chuu
