I heard that the Percy Jackson and the Olympians movie was actually quite good. I haven't seen it yet though, or read the book, but I hear good things about both.

Yeah, I've been hearing the same myself. One of my friends who saw the movie said it was really good, but that they'd made one movie for all the 4 books. I'm about 3 quarters into the first book and it's a great read, I recommend it! If you get the chance to read it, do :)
