I love Anya and Gunn so much, and they make a surprisingly awesome team. Which actually shouldn't be so surprising, since they're both so darn great. I like the parallel universe backstory you gave Anya, too - I'm glad she got to marry (Xander?) the second time around, before she lost her entire world. Is it inappropriate that I find Angel's fate in that parallel universe kind of funny?
Maybe it's just Anya's delivery. I love Anne, too, and I like that Anya and Gunn are networking with her; it sounds like a mutually beneficial business arrangement, as Anya would say, and it makes a lot of sense. My favorite lines:

"Fine, you're a parallel universe visiting fool." Hee!

He was the sole survivor of Wolfram and Hart and he hated thinking about it. He was so grateful this strange talking girl from Bizarro world had come into the diner to disturb his peace. Oh, GUNN. :( I definitely like this post-NFA universe better than the comics version, though!

I am willing to admit, in my head, I thought Alt-Anya married Giles - but I am a Giles/Anya shipper. And also, of course, I've been nearly writing stories for over two years that involve that particular AU where Angel and Cordy end up during s4 of Ats. It was nice to get to use it here, at least. (In one version Angel Investigations became the crew of Wesley, Lilah, Anya, Andrew, Fred, Connor and Faith. Which is a lot of ensemble to juggle.)

Ooh, Anya and Giles! Which reminds me that I thought I read an Anya/Giles ficlet by you, where he's resurrected Anya via some dangerous ritual and they're happy, hooray. I liked it but I lost the bookmark, so I poked around in your buffyverse ficlets tag, but I couldn't find it. Was I just imagining that you wrote it?

I really like the idea of that AI crew (although I have to wonder what happened to Gunn there), especially the additions of Lilah, Anya, and Andrew. Can't lose with that ensemble! I would love to see more stories set in that universe.

Your story is weird and perfect and I love it to death. You have written the most wonderful Anya and the most wonderful Gunn and, if they were to be together, it would have to be like this.

Aw, this is great! I love Gunn and Anya, and you really sell me on the two of them together. Not to mention the nice way their partnership mirrors the early days of Angel.
