Oh. Wow. This is utterly amazing!

I love the feel of it, the reliance between the sisters and yet also the conflict that's so much a part of families and close people. You did a wonderfully nuanced job with the cultural clash between Parvati and the rest of her family, her perceptions of India and Indian magic vs the British way of doing it, her parents' greater approval with Padma's choice of career, and how Parvati sees herself and Padma.

Your characterisation of the adult characters was great, too - a nice balance between who they were as kids and who they are/could be as adults.

Oh, gosh, thank you so much. I've been nervous about this fic and your comment really makes me feel good. One of my favorite things to write is characters who are in conflict because they love each other so much, so, yeah, the idea of sisters who've been separated for a long time was a good one for me to explore. And I'm so pleased that you liked the characterizations. I did want them to be recognizable from canon, but then again I couldn't have Parvati giggling as much as she did when she was fourteen. :)
