Announcing the Inaugural "100 Days of Color"
Stealing a page from the various seasonal celebratory type communities out there (spring_with_xan, summer_of_spike, etc.) we've decided that it would be fun do some rejoicing and celebrating of our own. We'd love you to share anything about your favorites (real life folk and/or fictional characters of color from any and all media sources). You're welcome to contribute anything; from fic to fic recs, actor or character picspams to icon sets, artwork to character essays/meta. We want it all! We're hosting 100 days of our very own show and tell.
Our goal is to have 100 generous souls post an offering of sorts (on designated dates ) celebrating a character or entertainer of color to this community from the start date of November 15th, 2009 until the end of our party on February 22, 2010.
To sign up, all you need to do is pick a date (any date between November 15th, 2009 and February 22, 2010), leave a comment with the character or entertainer you'll be shining the spotlight on, and a vague idea of what you'll be sharing (whether it be fic, art, recs, essay /meta etc.) Be as creative as you want. Dude, we'll even take a haiku about the awesomeness of Alec Hardison. YES, REALLY.
I'm hoping that some of you will join and share your thoughts, creations, or reccomendations focusing on one or more of your favorites. From Alec Hardison to Sendhil Ramamurthy to Zoe Saldana to Sokka to Charles Gunn to John Cho to Janelle Monáe to Cassandra Cain, there's bound to someone amazing you can shine the spotlight on.
