A/N: Second Eunhae fic kkk~ if it’s a fail, I’M SORRY!
Amsterdam, Netherland.
Eunhyuk finally arrived at the Schipol Airport. He took off his glasses and started looking for someone. Seeing no one, he decided to turn on his cell phone, knowing that the person must have sent him messages during his flight. And yes, he received four new messages.
Hyuk, I might be late. Just wait for me, OK?
And another one was:
Wanna share one bed or get separate rooms? :p
Reading that, Eunhyuk chuckled. He then read another one.
Hyuk, are you sure about this? I mean, I’m happy that you’re gonna be here with me, but what about your parents?
And another one:
Hyuk… I love you.
Eunhyuk smiled after reading it. He then approached a nearby phone booth and dialed the number he knew well. His smile widened even more when he heard a “Hello?”, but he didn’t automatically respond. He just loved it; he loved hearing the person’s voice.
“Hey, who is this?”
Guess who.
“Hmm… Hyuk… Jae?”
You’re so clever. “Yes, it’s me. Hello, Lee Donghae.”
“How was your flight? Was it boring?” Donghae asked when they were in their car.
“Nah… I found it very entertaining. A pretty noona sat next to me,” Eunhyuk replied, teasing Donghae, and just like he predicted, Donghae sent him glares. “What? It would be weird if a girl was handsome!” he defended himself.
“Yeah, whatever, Monkey,” Donghae rolled his eyes as he started driving.
“I just love the way you’re so jealous,” Eunhyuk smiled.
Donghae’s cheeks blushed. “T-thanks.”
Then the silence became a blanket, wrapping around them. Eunhyuk watched Donghae, who was driving uncontrollably. He gripped the armrest tightly; he really thought he’d die soon.
“Donghae! You’re taking away me and my life!” Eunhyuk exclaimed.
“What are you talking about?” Donghae replied without looking at Eunhyuk. “It’s the way I drive!”
“You mean the way you’re gonna kill me?!”
“Is it too fast?” Donghae asked innocently, stopping the car suddenly. Eunhyuk almost hit his forehead on the dashboard.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK, HUH? IT WAS THE SLOWEST?!” Eunhyk exclaimed again. “Here, let me drive!”
“You can’t! You don’t know the rules in Netherland, Hyuk!”
“Geez, this fish! Everywhere, no matter where, the rules are just the same!”
“But you don’t know where the apartment is, right?” Donghae shot.
Eunhyuk paused. “… Yeah, I don’t know.”
“Ha! Now just listen to me! Shut up and hold on!”
And Donghae drove wildly, again. Eunhyuk felt like he was going to die as soon as possible.
Eunhyuk placed his clothes in the cupboard. He didn’t want to be in same room with Donghae because he thought it’d be better. What if he suddenly needed ‘something’? He wanted to be with Donghae, but he also wanted to study there seriously.
The sudden thought of phoning Sungmin crossed Eunhyuk’s mind. He decided to dial his noona’s number.
“Hello?”
“Ah noona, it’s me, Hyukkie.”
“Hyuk! Have you arrived?”
“Yes.”
“I miss you!”
“I miss you too, noona.”
“Anyway, Hyuk… How’s Donghae?”
“He’s fine,” Eunhyuk said, smiling a bit.
“Are you sure?”
Eunhyuk just knew it; he knew Sungmin would ask about it. “Yes, noona. I’ve said it 1000 times, okay?” he sighed. “And… please don’t forget your promise.”
“Uh-huh. Explain to appa and umma about you two.”
Eunhyuk smiled. “You’re clever.”
“Hey Hae! What’s up?” A voice was heard from Donghae’s cellphone, currently on speakerphone.
“Hey Bummie, Hyuk has arrived,” Donghae replied.
“Ah, I see! Well, you must be happy now!”
“Of course,” Donghae smiled. “But… I’m still afraid…”
“Hmm?” Donghae thought Kibum was frowning. “About his parents?”
“Yeah…”
“Hae, listen. You have to try first. You have Sungmin noona, who’s supporting you guys. It will be much easier.”
“Are you sure?”
“You don’t trust me?”
“Well…,” Donghae sighed. “I guess I don’t have any other choice.”
“You better. Oh, by the way, I’ve got to go to class, see ya Hae.”
“See ya, Bummie.” And they both hung up.
Donghae turned around, and he saw Eunhyuk standing in front of him, sending him death glares. “Oh… Hyukjae… You’re here.”
“See ya, Bummie,” Eunhyuk imitated Donghae. “We’ve been together for so many years, and I can’t believe you’ve cheated on me!”
“WHAT?! WHO CHEATED ON YOU?!” Donghae exclaimed in shock.
“You!”
“Me?”
“Yes, you! You called your Bummie and didn’t notice me behind you!”
Donghae sighed, grabbing ahold of Eunhyuk’s wrist. At first, Eunhyuk resisted, but then he let Donghae guide him to the sofa. Donghae looked at his lover deeply with an angry expression.
“I just called Kibum to announce that you arrived, and I told him about how I felt confused at the moment, and he tried to calm me down. At least, that’s what friends are for; he’s my friend.”
“But why can’t you just share your feelings with me?”
“You’re not my friend. You’re my lover.”
Hearing that, Eunhyuk smiled.
Seoul, South Korea, three years later.
Sungmin was in her house. Kyuhyun was visiting her with Kibum, who attended the same college as him. They had just finished class and since Sungmin was in Korea, they decided to visit her. Sungmin was so happy because Eunhyuk wasn’t at home and she felt lonely, until Kyuhyun and Kibum came for a visit.
“Kyu, Bum, I brought these for you both,” Sungmin said, giving two gift boxes. “I designed them.”
Kyuhyun and Kibum were shocked, and they immediately opened the boxes. They both got black suits and sleeveless white t-shirts.
“Twin stuff, eh?” Kibum asked.
Sungmin nodded with a bright smile. “I’m sorry if my design is too ugly. At least I tried,” she said.
“It’s cute, noona,” Kibum praised without looking at Sungmin; his eyes were locked on the t-shirt. Sleeveless with a cute design.
“I wonder if you designed four; one for me, Kibum, Eunhyuk, and Donghae,” Kyuhyun said, teasing Sungmin.
Sungmin shook her head. “I designed another set twin suits for them. The formal ones. Maybe… Hyukkie and Hae can get married with suits that I designed,” Sungmin said, forcing a smile, but it disappeared when she sensed someone behind her. Kyuhyun and Kibum automatically stood up, making Sungmin stand as well.
“Who will get married?” Mrs. Lee asked in disbelief.
“U-umma…”
“Hyukjae… with… D-Donghae?” Mrs. Lee’s voice was shaking. “I-I…”
“Umma, I can explain,” Sungmin calmed her umma down.
“Umma, take a seat, please?” Kyuhyun, who already started calling Mrs. Lee, umma, tried to help Sungmin calm her down while Kibum thought their efforts were futile; he was sure of it.
Mrs. Lee took a seat between Sungmin and Kyuhyun. “D-Donghae is… Hyukjae’s l-l-lover, am I right?”
Sungmin held back her tears. “Umma…”
“Answer me, Sungmin.”
Sungmin nodded slowly. “…Yes…”
Mrs. Lee inhaled and exhaled. Her face turned red. She was angry.
“Call Hyukjae and tell him to come back. They mustn’t be together anymore or I’ll kill Lee Donghae.”
“No,” Eunhyuk said. “I won’t ever come back home until they let us be together.”
“Hyukkie…”
“Noona, what if they didn’t let Kyu be your husband? Would you still obey them?”
Sungmin paused.
“I know,” Eunhyuk breathed, smiling. “So, it’s clear. I won’t go home.”
“What if you come here with Donghae and explain everything to them?”
Eunhyuk was about to answer Sungmin’s question, but he barely heard a loud voice behind Sungmin; “I don’t need an abnormal son!” and Eunhyuk knew it was his appa.
“Appa! Don’t say like that!”
“Tell him to go home after killing that gay guy! Oh, he’s also gay.”
“Appa!”
“Noona, stop,” Eunhyuk finally said. “It’s okay. Let’s end the call.”
“But Hyuk…”
“Have a nice day, noona. I love you,” and Eunhyuk pressed the red button. He sighed, staring at Donghae, who palmed his face. Since the call was in loudspeaker, he of course, heard it all. Eunhyuk smiled bitterly, patting Donghae on his shoulder.
“We can beat this,” Eunhyuk cheered him up.
“I knew it. Your parents won’t let us be together.”
“It doesn’t matter to me.”
“But it matters to me.”
Eunhyuk lifted Donghae’s face up until he could see his teary eyes. Cry fishy baby, he thought. “Hae, do you love me?”
Donghae nodded surely.
“Then I’ll show them,” Eunhyuk smiled.
“Yes, I’m sorry sir.”
Eunhyuk then guided Donghae to the car. Donghae was drunk in a bar and the bartender called him while ago. He found Eunhyuk’s ID caller from Donghae’s cellphone. While in the car, Donghae suddenly talked, out of his mind.
“Hyukkie…”
“Yeah Hae.”
“Hyukkie… Your parents need you…”
Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow.
“Just leave me… they need you more…”
“Tch,” Eunhyuk scoffed.
“But I love you… what should I do? Huh? Tell me… don’t be so silent Hyukkie…!”
“You should take a rest,” Eunhyuk answered. “And you should keep on loving me. Without pushing me back to my family.”
Seoul, South Korea, 3 years later.
Mr. Lee was at his company when he received a fax. He gave it a glance and caught his son’s name on it. He immediately grabbed the letter.
From Hyukjae to Lee Seunggi-nim
Lee Seunggi-nim, I’m sorry for before, for suddenly sending you this fax and for only using my name without the surname because I know you would like it better that way.
I’m manly; that’s why I blame myself for sending you a fax, but it was you yourself who said that you didn’t wanna see me before killing Lee Donghae, so as a good son, I’ll obey that. You know I won’t kill him, right?
Sungmin noona and I never asked for what we actually wanted. We even obeyed all of your commands. But have you ever asked us what we really wanted? Never. You’re selfish, to be honest. We’ve always obeyed your commands, your children, but you never asked about our wishes. Just once, when you let Sungmin noona choose Kyuhyun, not Hankyung hyung or Donghyuk hyung. Can you at least allow Donghae? Okay, he’s a man, but I love him. Don’t act like you know nothing about boy and boy love. I may be an abnormal person, but let me tell you; love isn’t just between a girl and a boy. Love is blind, and nobody knows who the victims will be.
Donghae is a good person. He has been telling me to come back to you, and he even forbid me to write this fax. He’s never asked me to choose him, never. He keeps on insisting for me to choose you. But I don’t wanna leave him, so I wonder if I can make you believe what love is.
Lee Seunggi-nim, I’m sorry I’m so insolent. But you have to open your eyes, widely.
Hyukjae.
“DAMN!” Mr. Lee screamed in frustration, messing his hair up.
You have to pay for this, Hyukjae.
Mrs. Lee looked at her husband after reading Eunhyuk’s fax. She was teary eyed.
“Seunggi oppa, he’s right.”
“I have no idea, Hyojo-ah,” Mr. Lee caressed his forehead.
“I believe that what they’re feeling right now is love.”
Mr. Lee turned to his wife. “It’s definitely lust.”
“I miss Hyukjae. Let him come home. It’s been 6 years since he’s left. If he really loves Donghae, then we have to protect them.”
“You’re crazy, Hyojo-ah.”
Mr. Lee looked around and his eyes caught a photo book. He opened it. The first photo was him in front of his company in China, the second was his wife in the airport. He remembered; that was the first time Mrs. Lee followed him to go a foreign country after marriage. The third photo was the little Sungmin in her umma’s arm. He just couldn’t believe that the little princess was getting married. And when he looked at the fourth, he saw a cute photo. Little Hyukjae in his arm. His tears fell down. He just wanted that moment to come back, so he could embrace his little tiger again.
Sungmin saw it. She smiled.
“I’m about to marry Kyuhyun, baby. Just please come back!” Sungmin yelled into the phone.
“Heh, you do know I won’t. I wish I could be there watching you, but it means I’ll be watching your appa too,” Hyukjae resisted.
“He’s your appa too, brat.”
“Whatever. The point is, I can’t attend your wedding.”
“I’m mad at you,” Sungmin said, hanging up the phone. She couldn’t insist because she knew that appa wouldn’t love her plan to invite Hyukjae. But… she felt like… Hyukjae was so close to her.
“Let’s go. Kyuhyun must be waiting for you now,” Mr. Lee said as he wiped away his tears. He just couldn’t hold back his happiness when he saw Sungmin in her wedding gown. Sungmin helped him wipe the tears away with her thumb and when Mr. Lee offered his hand, Sungmin took it excitedly. They then they walked toward the altar.
“And…,” Mr. Lee stopped walking. “Sungmin, suddenly, I miss your brother. I wanna see him, can I?”
“What?!”
“I miss Hyukjae, Sungmin. I saw my photo, and I was holding a little Hyukjae. He’s right; I’ve asked too much from him. From you too. I even wanted to pair you up with Hankyung or Donghyuk, remember?”
Sungmin nodded weakly.
“I’ve been thinking about it. I know now that love never judge its victims. Who knew that you would marry your junior, right? And who knew he would love Donghae?”
Sungmin didn’t say anything; she just held back her tears.
“Your umma has told me to call him back too. So… I wonder if you could please call him.”
“I’ve called him, but of course he won’t come. He just doesn’t wanna see you. I mean, he doesn’t wanna make noises.”
“I see…,” Mr. Lee sighed in disappointment.
“But I wonder if he’s now in Korea.”
“Huh?”
Sungmin smiled. “I dunno. Just my random intuition.”
Eunhyuk sat on the driver’s seat. He was waiting for Donghae, who was dressing up. He stared at his wristwatch and sighed. When he looked at the mirror, he saw Donghae in a black suit. Eunhyuk pouted.
“Oh, God. We’re late, aren’t we?” Donghae said, panting. “Let me drive.”
Eunhyuk widened his eyes. “WHAT?? ARE YOU NUTS?? I ALMOST DIED WHEN YOU FIRST DROVE ME HOME WHEN WE WERE IN NETHERLAND! NO, YOU MUST SIT NEXT TO ME.”
“But Hyukkie! I can drive faster than you; you don’t want your noona to wait for you any longer, right?”
Eunhyuk placed his hands on his hips. “SIT. DOWN. HERE,” Eunhyuk pointed at the seat next to his.
“Hyukkie, please!”
“I said no! You hear me, now sit down here. We don’t have much time. If you don’t want to, you can stay at the hotel.”
Donghae pouted, but he chose to follow Eunhyuk’s command instead.
Eunhyuk and Donghae walked as fast as they could to the garden, where the wedding was being held. When they finally arrived, suddenly, a flower bouquet landed into Eunhyuk’s hand. He and Donghae frowned.
“Eunhyuk?” Eunhyuk heard a familiar voice calling out to him. “Lee Hyukjae?”
Eunhyuk, who caught the bouquet, smiled at his noona, and so did Donghae. “Hello, noona.”
“LEE EUNHYUKJAE!” she ran towards Eunhyuk, followed by Mr. and Mrs. Lee. She immediately hugged her beloved brother. Tears rolled down her cheeks as her parents also hugged him. Soon they heard cheers and the sound of hands clapping from the guests.
Eunhyuk himself couldn’t hold back his tears. Donghae? Don’t ask. He was already teary. “I’m sorry noona, I’m so late.”
Sungmin nodded.
“Appa, umma… I’m sorry.”
“Hyukjae…,” Mrs. Lee whispered. “We-your appa and me-had a lot discussion,” she took a deep breath. “You… you can be with… Donghae…”
Eunhyuk paused. “What? Can you repeat that, please?”
Mrs. Lee sighed. “I said, you can be with… Donghae…”
“What?”
“Eunhyuk, clean your ears,” Sungmin said as she pulled away from the hug. “Umma said, you can be with Donghae. Appa and umma talked about it and… YAH, YOU MUST THANK ME SINCE I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO SUPPORTED YOU AND HAE!” she yelled, punching Eunhyuk’s arm.
“Ouch! Hey! Noona!” Eunhyuk then locked arms with Sungmin. “If you cry like that, you’ll ruin your beauty! Kyuhyun, your wife is a failure.”
Kyuhyun chuckled. He then approached the Lee family. “Welcome back, Eunhyuk, Donghae.”
Eunhyuk and Donghae then hugged Kyuhyun. “Congratulations, man,” Donghae said.
“Thanks. Thanks for coming too; you know Sungmin wanted to see you two so bad,” Kyuhyun said as he pulled away from the hug.
Donghae smiled. Then he looked over at Mr. and Mrs. Lee. He bowed to them and soon, he felt someone patting his shoulder, and he was sure it was Mr. Lee. He lifted his head.
“Please… take care of Hyukjae…”
Donghae nodded as the tears rolled down his cheeks again.
Eunhyuk couldn’t help but hug his appa. He whispered ‘thank you’ so many times into his appa’s ear.
