Pushing Daisies Season 2 News

Well, it looks like this season of Pushing Daisies is going to be less quirky it was before. Tell me why does every show on tv need to be designed to appeal to the masses? I do realize that with the American model it needs to appeal to enough people to pay for itself over the long term, but I'm worried that they're killing the heart of the show. At ( Read more... )

Hmm, thanks for the article; very interesting. I always thought a lot of the appeal of the show was that it was different and quirky. I can understand that being that quirky can often be expensive and very ambitious and hard to keep up with long-term, but I hope they don't try and make it too run-of-the-mill either.

It is the appeal but it also scares the network. So long as the creators are willing to push back it will hopefully keep enough quirk while not falling into cartoon. That's the problem with always thinking long term with shows. You can never go to far out there.

This is true. But sometimes I wish that American networks used the British model. Not for every show, but the more offbeat ones might work better with a limited run.

We shall see! I know that they're working with a lower budget this year, but I have hopes that they'll keep the visual appeal and it sounds like the creators are doing their best to keep the quirk. I am a bit nervous though!
