Tonight was basically full of Regina feels and Golden Queen feels. Two things in particular really got to me: when Regina went to stop the portal, Rum called out to her and he actually looked *and* sounded concerned. And then when Henry went to hug Emma and Regina had this really hurt look on her face, she looked up at him and he seemed to be feeling sorry for her. Ultimately, I think that they DO care for each other, just in their own twisted ways.
It was a fantastic episode. I'm really glad we still have this Cora/Hook element going on because a)...I ship them. I feel horrible for doing so but you can't deny the chemistry there and b)It'll give cause for Rum and Regina to help each other again.
There were SO MANY Golden Queen scenes! Not as much snark as usual between them but lots of looks between them. Yes. *nods* The ones you mention - she seemed to look to him for comfort and he looked like he cared.
Heh. I ship them too! They are both villains and have LOTS of chemistry, why not ship them? I don't particularly like him with Emma but Cora keeps him strictly in line and he needs that.
I was going to post in my journal but no one watches this show on my list except you so I'll put my comments here. :-)
Royal blue! The teaser was full of it and Regina and Gold looked great in it. I love the costumes so much!
Wait. How did Mulan get Aurora's heart back? And personally, I think Philip should stay dead. If Regina can't have Daniel back then no one should get their dead true love back.
Cora's face when Hook told her Regina sent him to kill her was priceless. She's so mixed up. But still evil. Barbara Hershey does twisted motherlove well. This performance reminds me of her and Natalie Portman in Black Swan.
She CANNOT lose Henry. Not completely even if she is learning to deal with sharing him.No, she really can't. I'd be pissed anyway. Makes adopted moms seem like nothing, though this one is a magic addict. :-) Which isn't great. She needs a sponsor, but who will that be
( ... )
Cora did seem so shocked. She honestly never thought Regina had it in her which shows how innocent Regina must've been once. :-(
I only asked about Henry because he's Emma's daughter! Why should she be the only chosen one? And I don't get why Snow and Charming's love is purer than other fairy tale characters. Why not Cinderella's offspring? I want all Disney fairy tales to be equal! Well, not really. Just want to know why Snow and Charming are so special, other than they are the main characters on this show.
You made me giggle with mostly dead. Hee. :-) No further explanation necessary with Philip. The Princess Bride set precedent!
Think of it this way - they are the main characters on the show BECAUSE their love is so damn strong. Because it's so damn strong Rumpel can make a potion out of it. (Something it seems he had been trying for a while.) If it were not so damn strong someone else would be the main characters on the show. :)
So Emma IS magic! She not only breaks curses on thousands of people at once with a single kiss but you can't remove her heart! Fascinating. And also useful on a show where heart ripping is so damn common. This also makes her uniquely qualified to go up against Cora. One woman with no heart and the other with an unremovable heart.
Why does Emma have to be the one who goes against Cora? And since Cora knows that heart ripping won't work anymore, surely there are other ways she can create to kill Emma?
Besides, I'm a little wary of this "true love" being this powerful positive thing. Real love is not that one-dimensional. Love can play a major role in both a good or evil deed. It depends on the situation. I wish that the series' creators would know this.
Emma has to be the one since she is the hero of the show. *g* Even though the curse is broken she is still the savior. And as the product of the strongest true love perhaps ever (and probably some other factors) she seems to have the power to repel Cora. So I figure that she will indeed fight Cora and that her magic is going to have more uses than to simply keep her from losing her heart.
I do think the show has shown the dark side of true love more than once. Just look at Rumpel. He created the whole damn curse and manipulated everyone in sight out of LOVE for his son! And Regina cast the curse out of grief for the loss of true love.
Yeah, the whole savior bit is my least favorite part of the show. A fore telling she'd do something to break the curse was enough with out the added magic, product of true love (erm, so what about all these other people's kids, Cinderella's etc) really irks me, goes from depth to flat.
This was SUCH a good episode. And it left us with so many new nuggets and confirmations that it makes me feel a little better about waiting until January to see what happens next. I'm glad that Snow and Emma are back but OMG I was not prepared for how many feelings I have right now for Regina. She risked EVERYTHING to save them, to prove to Henry that she's changed and in the end she was all alone again. It seriously broke my heart and Lana Parilla's face when they all walked away was just perfect. So much emotion there.
Cora IS NOT motivated by revenge but by her own twisted version of love such an interesting distinction. Actually it's fascinating to me how much EVERY villain on this show has been influenced/motivated by love in some way. It was Regina's love of Daniel that drove her to seek revenge, it was Rumpel's love for his son that pushed him to put all the pieces in place for the curse, it is Hook's love for Milah that's driven him on his quest to avenge her death. It manifests differently in all of them but it's love that
( ... )
We got so many answers in the episode! What happened to Cora, how that bit of FTL survived, whether hearts can be put back, what Belle's captivity looked like, what Rumpel was up to with Cinderella's baby. It's all good
( ... )
I'm not so sure that was Belle's captivity...because it was in the same building that has Rumplestiltskin's cells and Emma's cradle - so what happened to Belle when Snow retook her father's castle?
>Someone like the Blue Fairy maybe would be a good person to go to, I'd be warier of her, than I would be of Rumplestiltskin - she started the whole thing, after all.
