Thing the first: Robert Carlyle will be at the premiere of California Solo on 28th June at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. (This Thursday!) He was supposed to have a BAFTA interview last Saturday as well but he is recovering from minor face surgery. I found a couple of new reviews of the movie for the festival: EIFF 2012: California SoloRead more... )

I had managed to completely miss the info that they had ever acted together so I was excited to see Eccleston in this! Even though he was mainly there to die tragically. *poor guy* And I can see why this role is mentioned as one which jumpstarted Carlyle's career. It was very memorable.

As for the icon, of course it's snaggable! I posted it in my last icon post. The only ones that aren't snaggable have my name on them and why would you want those? :)

CE is definitely towards the top of my Doctor list too. I completely agree he has this intensity about him and he was perfect as the shellshocked first Doctor after the Time War.

Also, seeing them together reminded me that British actors have only about two degrees of separation. (no need for six) They have either acted in something with any other actor or they have acted with someone who did. This episode of Cracker connects Carlyle with Doctor Who AND with all of Harry Potter along with the many other things all the actors in this episode have done. :D
