Harmony having a gang is possibly the funniest thing ever. I love Harmony - she just fails so very much at being good at anything other than looking pretty, the poor girl.
I love Harmony here too. Having her as the gang leader turned an okay episode into a fun one. What I want to know is how she convinced them to follow her.
The unicorn fetish, the flirting with Spike, going to complain about her burdens to captive Dawn. I just realized that at the end of the season with Glory, Dawn should be used to being a captive and listening to her captor whine about how tough it is. Hmmm, Glory as a slightly smarter and much more powerful Harmony.
What I want to know is how she convinced them to follow her. I think she flirted with them - plus they were all her own classmates, so she was used to being their leader back when they were all alive.
Glory and Harmony are interesting mirrors of each other. Both very blonde and beautiful, but one had all the powers while the other had none. Hmmmm.
That makes sense. Familiarity and flirting, both of which wear off fairly quickly once they work for her for a while.
It's not something that ever occurred to me before, but now I'm seeing all kinds of connections between them. I'll have to think about as I watch the season.
It annoyed me when Joyce blamed Buffy for Dawn seeing the murder, even when it was Joyce who asked Buffy to babysit Dawn and she must know what Buffy's life involves. It was hardly Buffy's fault
I think that a lot of the complete protection of Dawn was because the original idea of the character was as a ten year old, and Joss was always stuck on that idea of the cute little sister, rather than portraying Dawn as a teenager only a couple of years younger than season 1 Buffy. I don't understand why they didn't just introduce Dawn as 12 or something in the end, it's not like they didn't have Xander and Cordelia played by actors that didn't even look close to the age they were portraying. I think Michelle could have passed for a tv 12 year old.
The monks didn't do Joyce any favors. Her insistence that Dawn be completely protected was just annoying and actually makes her look like a bad mother.
Yeah, I always wondered why they didn't adjust the writing for MT's age. It would've been difficult for me to believe Michelle as twelve since she was already fairly tall and starting to develop curves. Luckily the monks provide a nice in story reason for Joyce's extreme protectiveness and Dawn's lack of emotional maturity.
