I'm not for the woobification of the evil characters by fandom. They are EVIL (and awesome and layered and wonderful to watch but still EVIL). Please let them be evil and embrace what it means instead of making them fluffy puppies. Yeah I was afraid that this would happen after Skin Deep aired and it's like all these RumBelle fangirls in particular go on and on about how he's "misunderstood" and what-not and I'm sitting there going "...uh. No. He's evil. He does evil things. He RELISHES in it." which is one of a thousand reasons why I think he's better suited with Regina cause seriously? Evil power couple of evil would be awesome ( ... )

I like some happy fluff as much as the next girl but I draw the line at meta and discussions about how he (or Regina) is simply misunderstood or really a nice guy. As you say, he relishes in doing evil. He likes twisting desperate people into making deals they will regret. Have we forgotten just how gleeful he is at other people's pain? It's fun to him.

my personal headcanon which is not necessarily a reflection upon actual canon, which I treat as separate anyway

Yeah, that makes sense to me. I do it all the time too. *g* Head canon of relationships and characterization while still remembering actual canon.

I started in fandom as a Spike fan, which is the same thing all over again. I like my evil characters layered with grey and good impulses/actions but that doesn't mean they are good.

No need to be sorry. This something that's been bugging me too. And it's good to talk to other people about it - both as a reminder that I'm not nuts for thinking he is in fact evil and to help work out my own thoughts on the matter.

Did you see OUAT tonight? I actually got to watch it beginning to end. Eager to hear your thoughts on it!

Re: Person of Interest - I've been watching that from the beginning. It's on one of my normal TV-watching nights, so it's easy to keep up with. I'm a sucker for Jim Caviezel - have been since Frequency (and most especially The Count of Monte Cristo; Reese so reminds me of Dantes), and I think he's only gotten better looking with age and a touch of grey (cue Jerry Garcia). Plus Michael Emerson is doing what he does best - playing an enigma - but at least I feel I can root for him this time. And yes, Taraji Henson is made of win. I kinda dig the unconventional UST between Carter and Reese. Am I the only one picking up on that slow burn?

Yes I did! I'll be posting my thoughts tomorrow since it's a bit late tonight. In short: It was a rather odd episode. Not the strongest but I love Grumpy (and Grumpy&Snow) so that was good. And it definitely brought up some questions about fairytale world. Anyway, more tomorrow. :)

Wait. Yes! That's where I know him! I saw that movie fairly recently but I didn't make the connection.

I haven't picked up on any UST there yet but I'll be looking for it now. They do have some chemistry.

It was a bit odd. The show is sometimes uneven. I just missed Henry, Regina, Gold and the gang. Next week is about Red, though ( ... )

I think it's that they have SO MANY character that they are having trouble working even our main characters into the storyline each week. Let's face it, if you need to do an origin story that is going to take up most of the episode and everything else is going to pushed to the side ( ... )
