It's a good cake to start up again with! Tasty, easy, and freezes well for future snacking.

Mmmmmmm, butter. Sounds good but I have to cut down on the butter after making many peach cobblers this spring and summer. But mmmmmmm. Maybe I'll make it for guests or to bring over to friends. Sounds yummy.

It is a lot of butter I admit but it would be a good cake to serve to friends which would keep you from getting too much butter. *g* And it freezes well, unlike cobblers, so it can be tucked away in the freezer.

My grandmother used to put a stick of butter and six eggs into her cakes (pound or in layers). Her cakes were legendary but dayum! I've been afraid to try to recreate them. Mostly because she really had the touch with baking and I'm sure I'd be disappointed by my efforts to use her recipe, but partly because SIX EGGS. :-)

Wow. Six eggs is...a lot. I'm not surprised that everyone loved her cakes! I'm also not surprised that you find it a bit much. :D

Mmmmm, sounds delish! Might have to give this recipe a try when bananas are more affordable :)

I hope the price comes down so you can make this! Here bananas are quite inexpensive so I buy them frequently.

Yeah, so do I. Our bananas come from Queensland, where they've had the floods and cyclones earlier this year, so that's initially what led the prices to shoot up. Now they're recovering, but supermarkets are slow to kick in the discount. Small bananas were still $8.00/kg at the supermarket I went to this morn. Boo :P

I'm glad you've enjoyed it! The bananas are very sweet which balances out the small amount of added sugar. (Sorry about the late reply; your comment got a bit lost.)
