Snow, Snow Go Away

/o\ Yay. We have yet ANOTHER snow day here. And they woke us at 5 am (!!!) to robocall us with the news. We do have this new invention called the INTERNET which we are, amazingly enough, likely to check for closings if there's snow. And if we don't have power because the storm is SO NASTY that trees and wires are down, I'm happy to assume there is ( Read more... )

I agree with you completely! 'Bones' used to be appt. TV for me--I adored the dynamic between all othe characters. And it seems as if it's not just Booth being separated, but we're not seeing as much interaction between the other characters as well, although Booth/Brennan is the primary spark and reason to watch IMO. And is it me or have all of the characters gotten less idiosynchratic? They are all slowly approaching normal! I can get normal at my job, I don't want to watch it on the TV! Maybe there is a new stable of writers...

I fell off the show back when they decided to screw up the Hodgins/Angela relationship but I had gotten back into it and I've enjoyed the last few seasons. This season though it's like they're TRYING to break the show. I'm not sure who the characters are anymore and I miss the interactions.

I hadn't thought about them getting more normal, but you're right! More normal, more generic. It's not doing it for me.

I'm probably not going to be watching Bones cuz they moved Fringe and that was the only thing that drew me to it to begin with, really. But your argument reminds me of Sydney/Vaughn in Alias. It never really worked for me to begin with (i liked Will better from the pilot...his expression at the track was so heartbreaking), let alone with them repeatedly tearing them apart and then trying to put them back together. Which is why i did stop watching and never saw the show in completion until i got the DVDs dirt cheap off eBay. But in a way i suppose the same thing (has) happened to me with Star Trek Voyager (Janeway/Chakotay) and Doctor Who (Doctor/Donna)...only if it was only ever going to be a friendship, stop trying to tear them apart! They're the backbone of the show! I'm a little worried for Fringe right now with Olivia/Peter. /:

I could never get into Fringe. The horror aspect has always stopped me though I've heard many good things about it. I sometimes wonder how I got into Bones since the first 10-15 minutes I watch through my fingers and never while eating. :D

Yeah, when they break relationships it's not necessarily going to work if they want to put them back together. Sometimes it's broken too much and that's it. But writers can never seem to resist pushing it!
