I must say that I'm LOVING the Illuminations blog with all the posts about the Hamlet filming. It's excellent getting a first hand view from someone (John Wyer) who's quite involved but, at the same time, a bit removed from the action since he's not an actor or the director. Ohhh! Reading this makes me so excited!
In other news, Jude Law's Hamlet has just started here and the reviews are already starting the comparisons. Let the battle of the two Hamlets begin!

I saw some of the reviews for Jude Law's version. The supporting cast is not loved, but he comes off rather well in general. The Daily Mail in particular took the opportunity to trash David Tennant while they praised Law.

Yea, well the Daily Mail is known as the Daily FAIL for a reason, lol. I think general consensus seems to be that Law is perhaps less energetic, and plays it more angrily. It is hard to compare apples and oranges!

Very true! I wasn't fussed about the review, I just found it amusing.

That's one of the great things about Shakespeare. There are so many different ways to go with his plays.
