Sep 16, 2008 13:42

Whew! I have finished part II of my 'Why I love Ten' post! (For part I go here.) And amazingly (or not so amazingly) I *still* have several reasons to love him that I just didn't have room for in either post ( Read more... )

Thank you! I love Ten and I'm not afraid to say it! Have you even been around lately? You've got house stuff to work on!

LOL actually no I've barely turned on the computer this past week! And yes I do have house stuff to work on but hey a girl needs a little Ten minute break every once and a while.

And I saw part one...so loved it. Do more! I need more!!! *evil laugh*

Well, there you go! There's the reason you didn't see Part 1 until now. Ha! No more for now. Not unless you want to take me and Chicklet in after Jay leaves for neglect. And you won't have room for that yet!

This entire post is made of wonderful, and beautifully expresses the reasons why I love Ten. I just have one small quibble.

All he wants to do after the Master has tortured the Earth for a year is to forgive him. What right does he have to forgive?

He does have the right to forgive the Master on his own behalf -- though not on behalf of the Earth.

I'm glad you enjoyed the post.

While I do understand your quibble (he certainly has the right to forgive the Master for his own torture), I get the feeling that he considers his forgiveness to be the only thing that's important. As though they're more real than anyone else - they matter more.

*arches one eyebrow* It's a Time Lord thing.

Oh, I know it is! When I look at the scene from my perspective, it's so arrogant that it takes my breath away. And I wouldn't want him any other way.

Also, I totally had vaguely intelligent things to say as well, now that I'm over my squee...

I love that he's easily distracted by shiny things.
OMG yes. And I love that young kids are watching a character who doesn't even try to be ironic and cool, and in fact turns out to be the coolest dude in the universe just by being enthused about things. As a very enthusiastic (and as a result, deeply uncool) person myself, I'm all for that lesson.

(the bit where they call themselves Time Lords is a clue
HEE! You know, I had such high hopes for Martha as a character when in S&J she says "So, not pompous at all, then". Too bad the writers totally went for Bland and Boring with her character in the end.

(SR) DOCTOR: (quietly) I'm so old, now. I used to have so much mercy.
GOOSEBUMPS. God I love that scene.

The Tenth Doctor lives his life on the surface of his skin.
YESSSSSSS. So much yes. A world of yes. I love that, completely.

Exactly! He's enthusiastic, a science geek, and isn't afraid to cry. Just the sort of hero I'd want to show my child!

Poor Martha didn't get the development she deserved. I still love her but I get annoyed at the wasted potential.

God I love that scene.

Me too! I love how here and in the Lazarus scene David *looks* old and weary. He's not just saying the words, he's feeling them.

This post, like its predecessor, is made of utter win. You've captured him perfectly.

(Also, random, but I like that you have 13 points. 13 incarnations or something. Hee.)

I did my best to talk about all the different sides of him. The 13 points was not intentional. I had 12 and then realized I was missing the most important reason.

I figured it probably wasn't intentional -- but it's still cool.

And you did a DAMN good job getting all sides of him. Isn't it funny how his flaws (of which there are MANY) just make him that much more endearing?

It's cool that you made that connection! Personally, I was all '13! It's bad luck!' But then I decided to go with it.

Thank you! One thing I was trying to do was be balanced. I don't just love his 'good' traits. Like you, I love his flaw too.
