One...Holy crap, Alex did a fab job on your banner... not that I expect anything less since she's done plenty for me, but still. Wow!
Two... I noticed those comments on FF and I seriously want to know what it is that makes people get pissed off about your fics. "Based on" is everywhere, why can't it be in fanfic? Heck, I'm doing it right now. Granted, I have not yet seen this movie, but I know there's enough differences.
Three... this chapter...I think I'm going to need some time to let it sit in. There's plenty going on here, and please don't take that as a bad thing. I'm intrigued and therefore curious for what's next, which is always positive.
Alex is my freaking banner goddess, she's that talented. Seriously, take a look at my master fanfic list- almost all of the banners are done by her. She's incredibly talented, and I'm incredibly demanding, but she doesn't mind too much, I don't think.
I've gotten a hell of a lot of hatemail, it's kind of ridiculous. It's a lot more than the comments on ff.net, unfortunately. I think what makes me mad is that I've pretty much broadcasted that it's based on Love and Other Drugs. I don't see why it can't be based on a movie- I've read so many fanfics inspired by movies that came out so great.
I'm a bit nervous with the writing for this one. I took a bit of a different approach than the other chapters, so hopefully that's not a bad thing?
She is amazingly good. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I get a new banner, but yesterday, when she gave me 3? I had the dumbest grin on my face. She spoils us all.
It is completely ridiculous. Right now, I'm doing "Metroville" which is based on the movie "Plesantville." Maybe I don't get backlash because it's from the 90's? I don't know. I wish I did.
I can't speak for everyone, but the writing here suits me just fine. Besides, I trust you, and I think you're talented enough to pull this off.
Ignore the haters. I don't see why it's such a big issue that you based this on a fic, at least you were honest and said that and pretended it was original. This is my fave from all your other fics, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
I loved this chapter ! Now they know each other secret, it's great ! Can't wait to read next. And ignore the hateful comments! Who cares that it's partly inspired by a movie. It's a great fic so it doesn't matter.
