He poked his head out of the guest room and flashed her a grin. "Be right there," he promised, ducking back inside once more.

Chloe cocked her head and grinned softly at him, nodding, "okay, I'll wait here."

She placed her purse on the couch and took her shoes off then moved to sit down as she waited for him, all the gifts he had already given her, she had no idea what else to expect.

"Now we wanna surprise her," Oliver whispered softly, picking up the small, fur-covered wiggly creature and cradling her against his chest. "So no sounds." She looked up at him inquisitively. He grinned and opened the door. "Close your eyes," he called down the hall.

She could hear him whispering but not make sense of the words, Chloe closed her eyes as instructed then grinned, "I have to say, if you're dressed up as sexy Santa? Big turnoff." she teased.

He grinned. "I may have fed her a few treats since I brought her home a couple hours ago," he admitted.

Rubbing a hand over the dog's back, she nodded, "this is a Christmas present I'm glad to share with you." A pause and she turned to look at him again, "have you ever had a dog?"

"No." He shook his head a little. "But I've always wanted one." He smiled at her. "I've been researching the last few weeks. She's current on all immunizations and everything."

"I've never had one before either," she grinned up at him, "guess I'll have to research too, does she need anymore shots in a while? How old is she?"

Oliver chuckled softly. "No, I think she clearly has her very own personality," he agreed, petting the pup softly.

Turning her head she kissed his cheek and looked up at him, "while we think about a name, can I just remind you how amazingly awesome you are?"

He grinned at her. "Oh, compliments are always acceptable," he teased with a nod, winking at her.

"Well, it's all true," she told him, laying her head against his shoulder and looking at the dog, "maybe we should call her 'Queen'."

"Well, no." He grinned at her. "I love that." He gazed at her.

She raised her eyebrows a little and smiled, "love what?"

"The sound of your laughter," he admitted.

With a smile, she leaned closer, doing her best not to move too much because of the puppy and kissed him gently, watching him when she pulled back.

Oliver smiled as the puppy whined a little, wagged her tail and then licked Chloe's cheek. "I think that means you're forgiven," he teased.

She laughed softly and picked the puppy up, "well, thank you, good to know you forgive easily." With a glance at Ollie, she moved the dog to his lap gently, "now I can get up to get your gift."

He took the pup without hesitation, chuckling when she barked softly and put a paw on his shoulder. He watched Chloe get up and head away, then looked at their so far nameless dog once more. He gently scratched behind her ears.

Coming back a few seconds later she grinned when she saw the puppy wiggling her tail at her, "hey, I was only gone for like thirty seconds," she said as she sat down next to him, holding a medium sized box.
