"That doesn't mean she wants to see you with anyone else, even if there is nothing between the two of us," she explained, "besides, there is the whole me killing her in the alternate future thing and if she doesn't hate me right now, she might if you take me with you."

He sighed softly, looking back at the TV with a frown. He hated to admit it, but she had him there. He popped a piece of popcorn into his mouth, falling silent.

Chloe pursed her lips together and turned to look back at the TV too, "I'd like to go, Oliver, but it's probably not a good idea." She told him quietly.

"You're right," he murmured, staring blankly at the screen. "It's not a good idea."

"What, was this in person?" He frowned, looking at her worriedly.

"No, online." She smiled a little at him, "it's okay, Oliver, she was mostly worried about Clark's well being."

At that he arched an eyebrow, then cocked his head to the side, thinking.

Shrugging a shoulder, she glanced at the tv again, "I know, she was probably up to something."

He rubbed a hand over his face, feeling uneasy. "Maybe," he murmured. "We both know I'm not the most objective person when it comes to Mercy." He offered her a faint, worried smile. "Sure you don't want to come to that party?"

With a deep breath, she watched him a little, maybe she could get over the other reasons why she didn't want to go to the party, the fact that Clark would be there did weight in slightly, but mostly, she didn't want to face her former co-workers, didn't want to have to answer questions about Jimmy and about how she's doing.

Nodding slightly, she watched him, "I guess if it will give us some answers about her..."

"Maybe we can get Vic to run Watchtower while we're there." He looked at her thoughtfully. He was quiet for a moment. "Are you sure? Because if you don't want to come with me, it's okay, Chloe. We can figure this out another way."

Unconsciously, she squeezed his arm, "I'm sure and I think that's a good idea, he can call us if anything comes up."
