After two very long days, they were finally getting home again. Chloe helped Ollie back to the apartment with Clark and Bart's assistance, much to Ollie's annoyance. But after thanking the guys, she had managed to get them to leave

"No," he grumbled, frowning as he sat propped up against several pillows. He was glad to be out of the hospital, of course, and he was sure the food would be an improvement, but he wasn't happy that Dr. Hamilton had advised several days of bedrest. And he knew he wouldn't be getting out of it if Chloe had anything to say about it.

Chloe was trying to be understanding, she knew she would be just as annoyed if the situation was reversed, having to have people help you do everything, do things for you, have to stay in bed all the time, but she couldn't help thinking it was... kind of adorable. Not that she would tell him that.

Instead, she walked over to the bed and smiled at him, "you can have more painkillers in half an hour."

"I'll be lucky if I can think straight once all the drugs get out of my system," he mumbled, still frowning. "I've barely been conscious in two days."

"Ollie..." she said quietly as she sat down on the bed next to him, "you got hurt badly and I know you hate this, I would too, but can you imagine how much pain you'd be in if you didn't take anything? And there is no point in making you suffer anymore than you already have." She was serious now, watching him, remembering him chained to the wall, bleeding, shaking, cold, so weak he could barely stand.

He sighed heavily, letting her pull his arms to his sides once more. "I'm being annoying, aren't I?" He looked up at her with frustration in his brown eyes. "I don't like being helpless. I'm not used to having other people take care of me. Even if that other person happens to be the woman I'm in love with." He shifted his arm and took her hand in his.

"I know you don't like this, Ollie," her expression softened as she listened to him and so did her voice, "but you better get used to it because I'm not going to be scared away by grumpiness, I'm gonna keep taking care of you." She linked her fingers with his and squeezed his hands gently.

"I don't want to scare you away," he murmured, gazing up at her intently. "That's the last thing I want." He squeezed her hands gently in return.

"Good," she smiled softly and kissed his cheek, "because I'm not going anywhere."

"Bart may be able to subsist solely on Mexican food for days and weeks at a time, but I'm used to more of a variety," he complained.

[chloeas]

"Okay, then you get to choose whatever you want and I guess I can always call Clark and have him pick it up if necessary," she raised her eyebrows and lifted a hand to brush his hair, "does that work for you?"

He grinned brightly, leaning into her touch. "What sounds good to you?" he asked, shifting closer to her and putting an arm around her.

She shifted closer to him, not wanting him to move more than necessary and shook her head, "whatever you want is fine with me, I'm not picky." She smiled softly, "not that you are, but you know, you're the one who is in pain and should be spoiled."

"Not as tired as I'll be once I take my next dose of painkillers." He sighed a little and shut his eyes, enjoying the closeness.

Chloe ran her fingers through his hair and smiled, "good, because you need to eat and then you can rest."

He opened his eyes to gaze at her once more, his chest tight for a moment at the thought of how close he'd been to losing her. He shifted closer and kissed her softly, resting a hand gently against her face.

At the expression on his face, she frowned softly and after kissing him back, she pulled away slightly, "what are you worrying about now, Ollie?"

Chloe shook her head a little, shifting closer, "he hurt you to get to me and... I know it's not my fault, but I hate that you're so hurt and in so much pain because you got involved in this whole thing and I just have to tell you I'm sorry you did."

Oliver kissed her softly. "I'll be all right," he murmured. "I promise. I'll be healed before you know it, Sidekick." He nuzzled her nose with his own before kissing her once more.

She kissed him back, stopping herself from moving any closer to him, as much as she wanted nothing more than to wrap herself around him and have him as close as humanly possible, she knew she couldn't do that without causing him a lot more pain than he already was in.

Oliver slid his hand down her arm to rest on her hip once more as they kissed slowly. When it ended, he rested his head against hers once more. "It's good to be home," he murmured.
