For once, Lois actually arrived early. To say she was worried about Clark would have been an understatement, though it probably didn't need to be stated at all, because Lois Lane was rarely on time, let alone early. Aside from deadline, things like schedules hadn't been a priority for her since she'd lived with the general.
And she was extremely glad they were flying courtesy of Queen Industries' jet rather than a normal flight, because not only would it be more comfortable, but it would also be more private. She and Chloe hadn't had a chance to spend a lot of time together since Ollie had come back. And while she was glad Oliver was alive again, and all right, she needed some one-on-one time with her cousin.
Chloe was more than a little surprised when she saw Lois getting inside the plane right after she sat down. So she stood up again and smiled a little, "you're early." She told her then glanced at the pilot over Lois' shoulder and nodded at him, smiling a little more.
"Well, I was chasing down a story on this side of town, and my interview ended early so I thought what the hell, why go back to the Planet when I'm already so close to the airport? So here I am." Lois flashed Chloe a smile that didn't quite meet her eyes, but sat down quickly after tucking her luggage away.
Although she noticed the forced smile, Chloe didn't say anything, she watched as the pilot closed the doors and made his way back into the cabin as she sat back down, this time, next to Lois, "well, maybe we'll be able to get there earlier than planned."
Chloe did the same and took both empty bottles and placed them on the small table next to her, "okay, I can't wait until we've had enough alcohol in our systems, so... start."
She took another drink, closing her eyes. "They're about...Clark." She opened her eyes quickly and gave Chloe a warning look. If she laughed, Lois was going to jump out of the plane.
"...Okay?" Chloe didn't laugh, she was way too worried about... everything to laugh, besides, she wasn't about to laugh at her cousin, "what about Clark?"
"And I don't think there is anything wrong with that," Chloe admitted, turning on her seat a little to look at her cousin, "it might not be the best time yet, but I don't think it's a problem."
Lois sighed, squeezing her cousin's hand a little. "I guess it was only a matter of time before he had to get back to work, right? I'm sure he'll be back by the time we land."
"Yeah, I know." Chloe shrugged a little and looked over at her cousin, "and at the risk of sounding like the jealous... whatever it is I'm supposed to be, I would have been fine with it as long as he wasn't going to see her, I don't trust her."
Sighing softly, she shook her head, "not really, I think he trusts the fact that she won't harm him, physically at least. And Ollie is smart, but her mind games... and she knows him well."
