HRG is what we called Noah before we knew his name. It stands for "Horn Rimmed Glasses".

Also, Nathan had to take Peter away because since he was exploding he really couldn't control his powers well enough to fly. Or so that's the explanation we've been given by the writers. I think Adrian and Milo just wanted to touch each other.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense that he wasn't just Mr. Bennett, but whatever. HRG is more mysterious, and he's a pretty mysterious guy.
