Eww, eww, eww... Help me, please?

Does anyone have any tips for keeping roaches away? I found one in the shower and am fully, and utterly horrified now so much that I couldn't even get in the shower afterwards.

Help?

yuck

Boric accid I heard, whatever that is. And Cayenne pepper. Big boot is also very effective.

Gyah!! I've thankfully never met a roach, so I'm afraid I can't help you. I'll just, y'know, shudder on your behalf for awhile here. O_o

This is only about the fourth I've seen in my life ever, and prior to moving to the lower 48, I had never ever seen one, not ever. And I've never had one *in* my dwelling! Oh, so shudder worthy! The damn thing would not *die*. I had shudders through a good chunk of the work day. Plus I felt unwashed so that was another good reminder. :P

if you go to walmart buy bug/roach bombs. One pack is about $10 for 3 of them and they take two hours to work. Once you blow them off they will get all the ones that you don't see and the eggs.

Best way to get rid of them once and for all.

Also? ICK too.

Those little sticky traps are excellent - I put them in every dark, inaccessible-to-humans spot in my house :p Under the fridge and stove and laundry bins, etc. They're made to catch mice - and they do - but I've found that they catch anything else that's small and moves just as well :* Of course, seeing what you've caught when you go to switch out traps is unpleasant... But it beats having the little creepy crawlies up and running about the house!

Ooo, sound advice. And yeah, gross, but better than squishing them yourself. :) Thanks! I was hoping for a suggestion like that that didn't involve inviting more of them in first. :)
