I'm not sure if this is a sentiment shared by other retail employees, but I've come to believe that exact change is one of the most beautiful things humanity still has to offer. When some sweet, smiling customer says "wait, I've got fourteen cents!" and undoes the clasp of their coin pouch or unzips the separate pocket of their purse, my heart goes

Of course! I understand. Coin-carrying can't work for everyone. Stalkers, as you've mentioned, would be best off without. And mimes! A mime with pockets full of loose change would not be a good mime at all.
