AP tally: Obama effectively clinches nomination.

I would like to proffer a cautious Wow. WOW! I remember the moment Bill Clinton was elected, sitting in the college cafeteria with nifwitch. The other students were going nuts throwing panties and we looked at each other like, "Well, we'll see ( Read more... )

I don't like HRC's track record (voting yes on war, sponsoring overly cautious and not very visionary bills, and that little Bosnia "misstatement") so I don't want her anywhere near the Oval Office.

As far as who Obama should choose as a running mate, here are my off-the-top-of-my-head dream candidates:

Barbara Boxer
Howard Dean
Nader
Barbara Jordan (too late)
Jeremiah Wright

Dude. This is just like fantasy baseball!

hell yeah! your choices for vp are super, but is that from reality land? i honestly don't know what the options even are... but dude, an obama/boxer ticket is one i could be pretty excited about.

don't get me wrong, i love nader... but i want obama to be taken seriously.

if he doesn't pick a white guy as a running mate, I'll eat my hat. and I don't even own a hat, so that's saying something.

I would offer to loan you a hat or two, but I think you're right.

I really don't remember the panty-throwing. Of course, by that time I'd been at that school for a quarter of my life or something ridiculous like that, so perhaps I was just jaded about all the underwear I'd seen flung about.

Well, metaphorical panty-throwing. Erdman cafeteria went up in cheers except for us, or so it seemed. That definitely was the school for underwear flinging.

My innate suspicion of politicians remains, but I've followed this primary season more closely than any ever before. (I think I was softened up by Michael Nutter's win as Philly mayor. I'm still tickled with him.)
