I've been on a small movie renting spree this month, after a Blockbuster card allowing you to rent as many movies as you want for cheaper cost until the end of April came in the mail. There was nothing new I wanted to see, so I took the opportunity to rent some of the recommended Asian horror ( Read more... )

I loved Tale of Two Sisters, but it is a bit hard to follow.

I think the thing with organ theft isn't so much a real problem, as that Asian cinema seems to really like urban legends. If you start looking, you'll notice a lot of their films are based on urban legends.

I can't imagine thinking Brokeback Mountain is boring. Sure, it's slow-paced, and not flashy like most Hollywood movies - and thank the gods for that! It's deep and emotional and gut-wrenching and sad and beautiful... but not boring. At least, that's my opinion.

A Tale of Two Sisters was easier to understand the second time through, the interactions between everyone in the house made much more sense. Problem is I have this overanalyzing mind that insists on picking apart every little detail of a movie so I can figure it all out from every possible angle. So having some loose threads, like not knowing whether the house was actually haunted or if it was another symptom of everyone's guilt and insanity, can drive me a little nuts ( ... )
