Lisey's Story might not be quite gory enough for you, but I enjoyed it.

I'll recommend to you what my Staff Recommendation is at work- Warren Ellis' Crooked Little Vein. Ellis is a twisted guy.

You'll also be pleased to know that Clive Barker's new book was actually released today-- it's titled Mr. B. Gone. It's remarkably short considering, which I think is a good sign. (While I've liked his last few books, some of them had some really week endings compared to his short stories & earlier books.)

I do agree about his more recent books. I think Coldheart Canyon was one of the last, and it was little more than six hundred pages of ghost porn; not one of his better efforts. Imajica remains my all time favorite novel, Dread my favorite short story (from the Books of Blood volume 2)
