Wandering around Barnes and Noble Sunday night, I realized that I have been without decent fiction to read for quite some time. Clive Barker has always been my favorite author and, while I hear that he is working on a new book and it does sound like it could be good, he hasn't put anything out in the last few years. Lisey's Story might not be quite gory enough for you, but I enjoyed it.

I'll recommend to you what my Staff Recommendation is at work- Warren Ellis' Crooked Little Vein. Ellis is a twisted guy.

You'll also be pleased to know that Clive Barker's new book was actually released today-- it's titled Mr. B. Gone. It's remarkably short considering, which I think is a good sign. (While I've liked his last few books, some of them had some really week endings compared to his short stories & earlier books.)

Oooh, thanks for letting me know. :-D

I do agree about his more recent books. I think Coldheart Canyon was one of the last, and it was little more than six hundred pages of ghost porn; not one of his better efforts. Imajica remains my all time favorite novel, Dread my favorite short story (from the Books of Blood volume 2)
