Shoe shopping ordeal - and yes, I mean that

I understand the problem of shoes. My feet are 9 ww- very wide and big. I have one store I go to in DC area. Otherwise my feet suffer.

I'd be curious to know which shoes this wonderful salesman said were worth the money. I don't have an odd size, but like quality shoes that last and don't cost the earth.

The Nike Dart VII were the shoes I got; cost me about $55, which was still better than anything in the store.

There was another pair of Nike shoes (brand new ones, I want to say it was the Lunar Glide, or something along that line) that I might have considered, more expensive (much closer to $100) but I'm told definitely worth it. However they were brand new and so far only available in ... ahem, "summer colors." So if you enjoy running around in fire engine red or highlighter green sneakers, then you will be all good; if like me you wouldn't be caught dead like that, in the few months sane colors will be out.
