Grove Ritual and Some People are just Idiots

Jun 28, 2009 02:40

Today was the grove's Midsummer ritual that Renee and I were running in honor of Hermes and Apollo (I know, how shocking of us, huh?). I can't say that things went as well as we wanted them to, but considering the very stressful time we've been living in, the major life re-evaluations and course direction changes that have been made in the last few ( Read more... )

festival, shut the fuck up, ritual, die already, things that make my brain bleed, apollo, hermes, assholes, grove, stupid people

You know, I'm almost glad I'm not at the Grove alot sometimes because despite my swine flu, I've been kinda off my rocker since a few weeks ago and this girl may have blown it for me. Sorry you had to put up with that shit!

I swing back and forth on the grove quite a lot. I still have people that I actually like and respect there, but too often it seems the place is being overrun by brainless idiots I don't like being in the same zip code as.

She keeps this up, someone is going to snap her head off sooner or later. If its not me, I hope I can at least watch. ;-)

Heads up, Michael Jackson might have faked his death. I have the video, taped from an early morning CNN broadcast (which has not since been repeated) that purports to prove it.

If this is true, this is big.

Yeah, and I didn't even mention the part where, right before leaving for the night, she decided to scream good night to both Hermes and Apollo at the top of her lungs. This was almost midnight and the grove is in a residential neighborhood. And no, I wasn't in the back yard when she did this or I would have told her to shut the fuck up.

I don't understand it. Neither the total lack of respect for ritual decorum, or why she is allowed to continue existing.

Yes, if you come out here you can do all-Greek rituals with no compromises, with 2 or more other Hellenistai, where everyone is respectful and actually worships the gods! :)

People like that are everyone. I had an elderly women like that in my Toastmasters club. She wanted to be the focus of everything. I think you did well. These folks are pitas (pains in the a**) and most people who are around them know it.

Obviously, she needs whacked upside the head with a cricket bat. One with the word "Clue" painted on it in large letters.

I'm glad the ritual went well otherwise.

Hey, you do metal work, right? Want to make me one of those? :-P

Cricket bats are generally made of wood, not metal. They're much like baseball bats, except flat & wide instead of round. I keep trying to get LawBro to bring me one back from England when he comes home to visit but so far he hasn't. I suspect he doesn't realize that I'm serious.

Oh I know what they are. But I figured a metal cricket bat would probably hurt a lot more when I smacked her with it. Plus, it would ring quite nicely. :-)
