I have never done well with temperature extremes, I freeze and over heat fairly easy (though I am worse in the cold). And now, in the last couple of weeks, I'm discovering some new weather related unpleasantness my body doesn't respond well to ( Read more... )

Yes, you do need to move here! The more the merrier. :)

The ungodly humidity is one thing I do NOT miss about the West Coast...

I had to take a second, third, and fourth look at your pic/icon, especially when you alluded to being in Oregon. The visible portions of your face are virtually identical to my ex-wife who also lives in Oregon. That's just freaky.

I'm fairly certain I'm not your ex-wife. :) But yes, that is bizarre.

yes, it's usually humid here but not the extent it has been. i think that's what's accounting largely for our insane mosquito infestation here. i was at a park in pasadena yesterday, and the breeze off the bay made it delightfully fresh and bug-free. made it hard to come home and return to needing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt to venture out to my own dang barn.

Yes, Oregon is much more mild. We have high humidity in the winter only, when it rains all the time - but the temps rarely go below freezing, even at night. In the summer, it is pretty dry, and temps rarely go past mid-80's.

You actually have two completely different climates in Oregon, depending on which side of the Cascades your on. Wet on the west side, high desert on the east. My kids live in Bend and my ex is in Pendleton. I've always been a fan of the High desert regions myself, although never adverse to some beach time either.
I moved to the BMore area from there 8 years ago and I miss it still.
