Looks like I lost a LJ friend today.
Probably just as well, since I was considering all weekend dropping her myself as a potential trouble maker. She was the reason I made that post about my journal's rules and regulations, and the way in which my room mate was recently treated by her and her good buddy Hellenic Evangelist Tim Alexander was simply

I really have no idea what's up this guy's ass. Up until a few weeks ago really I had no idea he even existed. I've never been on his forums and I haven't been in the greater hellenic community much for a year or two. Kind of too bad it couldn't stay that way.

Mainstream Asatru is made of much fail, and there are plenty of people who are very much like T.J.A. but actually make him look as friendly as Barney the Dinosaur.
I'm all for history and trying to be accurate and respectful. I'm a bit of a pedant, actually. But I'm also intellectually honest enough to admit we live in the 21st century and Heathenry has far less source material than the Hellenes, and a strict reconstruction of the Nordic faith is damn near impossible. Furthermore just by virtue of living in the 21st century strict recon anything is pretty hard to do. Faith needs to be relevant.
This is one of my pet rants if you couldn't tell. But I empathize because... just... do not want. I hadn't heard of said individual either until more recently by way of sannion and other Hellenic conspirators, I mean, uh, friends. ;P ( ... )

As for losing an LJ Friend, I've had something similar happen recently for simply being myself and taking a rant off a friend's journal and into my own where it could be continued privately. Sometimes being yourself sucks... but, it's still better than being someone else for the benefit of others.
I can relate to being anti-social in pagan communities. Aside from a few pagan forums, I have noticed a propensity for drama sometimes and I just like to avoid it. Drama stresses me out. Gzah.

It's one of my pet hates too - I don't like people bitching each other out on my journal, they can take it to their own journals, or alternatively have a fight via email if they really want to... but there's a time and a place ( ... )

I missed the drama personally, but I say good riddance!

Both of them handled that conflict remarkably well when it came to their mutual friends. I've never felt like I had to choose between them. If he comments something here she doesn't come on and attack him, or comment to me with a bunch of thinly veiled attacks on him and asking me why I have anything to do with him?
And its sad that I am commending their behavior, because this isn't something that should be commendable. Its something you should just do because we're not in middle school anymore.
I'm really hoping good riddance, but we'll see. They don't always drop things so easily.

Because some people haven't left middle school.
