I can easily imagine Mycroft insisting on maintaining complete balance in every aspect of his life, including his romantic relationships. I think it's sweet that this genuinely baffles Lestrade, who is honestly trying to be supportive. Enlisting John as his "agony aunt" shows his level of desperation. *g* Of course, as Mycroft learns through that fifteen minutes of CCTV footage, there really can't be any question of balance or boundaries when it comes to Lestrade. :-D
