Totally true. I remember having a job where I was utterly, utterly miserable. I only stayed for two months because I couldn't stand being there for another second. (Working for the US Tax Court, by the way. Ugh. Unbearable.) I felt like a waste of space. Only did about 30 min. of work a day. Brought shit to do, like play videogames on my personal laptop, hem my pants, write out (at the time) my wedding reception place cards, look for other jobs. Which worked out. Because I got into theatre and can actually enjoy what I do and be proud of what I do, and even though the money and security doesn't really come close to a govt. job, it's so much better. Ir really doesn't matter what kind of money you make or "security" you have when you're miserable. I'm definitely not a person who can work in a job I don't like.
