"People who casually use profanity and vulgarities to pepper their speech are often perceived as abrasive and lacking character, maturity, intelligence, manners, and emotional control."
I think maybe I'm feeling especially cynical and unable to control things today.

Not to mention that according to Jonathan D Bellman, the stylistic excess (over use of big boy words) regularly "dulls the reader's sences with its procession of highly charged, multisyllabic words. There is also a subtly confrontational undercurrent: to oppose the authors evaluation would be to stand up and defend 'ranting hyperbole and excruciating cacophony.' None of it is necesary, and it is noteworthy that no actual proof is often offered" (Bellman, A Short Guide to Writing about Music edition 2, 76)
what do i know, i'm just procrastinating writing my analysis paper
