So what kind of snacks do you guys feed your Chinchillas?
Mine really likes Alfalfa, peanuts and popcorn without the husks.
But I was just wondering what else you guys give yours so I could give mine a few extra treats!
Thanks!

I wouldn't feed mine any kind of corn *EVER*, and very very rarely a tiny piece of peanut, if at all. Neither of those are very good for them, not that chinchillas really need treats in the first place. As for the alfalfa, alfalfa what? Loose hay or blocks? (Either one are good, but they should be getting the type that's opposite their pellets as loose hay anyway. So, if they're on a Timothy pellet, they should have loose Alfalfa hay in their cage every day.)

Our guys get: the very rare bite of dried apple, a rare half of an organic raisin, half of a shredded wheat square, a small scoop (about a teaspoon each) of "old fashioned" oats, alfalfa and timothy hay cubes, or maybe a quick lick of apple juice off of my finger (though one does the "I'mma pee on you" dance when he smells fresh apples, don't ask me why).

Alfalfa is a main staple of their diet. Give as much as they will eat. Some will play with.

Peanuts (and all nuts in general) are too high in fat and can cause fatty liver disease.

Corn causes gas/bloat. Bloat is bad in chins as it stops their gut action. I'd quit that now.

If you must treat, a shredded wheat cereal square with NO frosting. A mini or a 1/4 of a large one. Cherrios are ok. A different kind of hay to mix it up (timothy or bermuda).

Well, Alfalfa should really already be in their food if you're feeding a good quality pellet like Mazuri, Tradition, Oxbow, or Purina Advanced Nutrition Rabbit Show blend. Those are all alfalfa based foods. In that case, you want to feed Timothy hay instead, green, smelling sweet and nice, and as much as they want on a daily basis. Kaytee sells it in little bundles if you don't have another source like a feed store ( ... )
