When does Elaine go to the Academy? She's a civilian aid right through to I Coulda Been a Defendant, when she graduates as a newly minted police officer. Does that mean she was at the Academy part-time throughout seasons 1 and 2?

How old do you think she is?

Hmmm I go for mid-twenties. I know that Catherine Bruhier was only 22/23 in season one. I tend to place Elaine as being a bit older than that, a bit more life experience. I tend to go 25 or 26 maybe. Not much older than CB but a few years.

Yikes, that's younger than I thought! I want Elaine to be older than that, too, for balance. And also, to have lots of life experience, yes. Do you think she went to college? I think maybe she started a degree but dropped out for family reasons, and then worked a few jobs before she decided to be a cop.

I think that she probably did start a degree but had to drop out. I see maybe her father dying and her having to support her mother or something like that.
I think she probably did a few jobs, perhaps in stores or something like that. Then she wanted to be a cop so decided to start as a civilain aide as that would give her experience and an income.

We're all as young as we feel!

Ray's actual age is never mwntioned in canon but a prop not seen on screen (I think it was in Vault) indicates Ray's birthdate is Jan 1960, the same as DM. So I have always assumed that. Which means Ray is roughly a year older than Fraser.

I do think it's foolish, though, for TPTB to go assigning birthdates to characters that are different from their actors' birthdates, if they don't actually have to. Because some viewers might certainly think that a Capricorn doesn't seem much like a Gemini. :)

My own personal canon has him have a late Jan birthdate purely because it fitted into Chinese Astrology well for a fic I wrote. *g*
But yeah I think TPTB should stick to actors birthdates, at least roughly. It's easy for everyone to remember then.
*ponders if Ray Vecchio acts like a Capricorn*
