nosmutforyou. I dunno how well this actually justifies the pairing, as it's kinda open-ended. (And I couldn't help but use a pun in the title - my apologies!)
"I have time for one more question. You, in the magnificently magenta robes."
"Chuffing poofter," a disgruntled male journalist muttered. Someone elbowed him hard in the ribs.
"Thank you, Mr. Lockhart. Astrid Pennifold, Witch Weekly. Is there a lucky lady in your life right now?"
All the females giggled. Gilderoy smiled wanly and waved his hand. "Don't you consider yourself lucky to be here?"
"Well, I certainly don't," someone in the back shouted out rudely. Angry faces turned in her direction.
"Now, now," Gilderoy said calmly, going over to the woman in question and putting his arm around her shoulder. He led her back to the front of the room. "I can understand that. I was in the same position myself once - an under-appreciated soul, just another one of the masses. Well, my dear, let me tell you that today you are lucky, because you are getting a free copy of Magical Me!"
There was a smatter of polite applause. The woman writhed in Gilderoy's grasp as he signaled to the photographer.
"You can put that in your article, Rita m'dear."
"And I'll be a star just like you, won't I?" Rita said darkly.
"Oh no," Gilderoy grinned. "Not quite."
